a lot of OF forums have "quite" a few of those sorts of threads along with boot and immunes I would add some, but I have no idea how they work to be honest, I think sound clash is one song versus another of the artist - a bit like this or that but based on your fav song out of the two???

You're not, in any way.

 

This is our forum and we have always worked without comparing ourselves to any other OF, other than taken a cursory glance at the league every Monday or Tuesday, and adding a few congrats or comments.

 

We've always done well enough. That's what stuck in the craws of the Darius haters. Those who were just rumbling because they didn't think he deserved to have his own forum and who didn't really have strong feelings, learned to live with us by pointedly ignoring us - turning off the D forum on their index and never commenting on our position in the league.

 

Only one group on these boards and only a minimum of that group, continue to try to hope their silly comments can ferment revolution against us. Their moderator is correct - they cannot win. Peace has broken out on thse boards with the will of the majority, This is not CC. e.g.Britney and Christina fans get on side by side.

 

 

I was being tongue in cheek - I do think these leagues are tiresome when they pull the same old resentments out of the woodwork when ever we do well, but on the whole most are happy to play along and try to figure out more and more ingenious ways to get posts and views up -

I don't remember one single comment that was directed against us by anyone not in Will's forum apart from what I took to be a genuine question based on genuine lack of knowledge and surprise.

 

People had just forgotten that we have always been fairly high in the tables because for two six or so weeks we weren't so active.

...and another thing ( Roxie),

 

Many of the moderators who top the posting charts are in fact (joint-)moderators of several different OFs. I guess they must use the track this thread facility to keep on top of it all. One OF is enough for me.

I don't think it'll make any difference to me. When I', here and can post I do. If I'm alone then obviously, I post less, when I'm not here, I don't post at all. I'm not gong to start worrying about it one way or the other

I don't see us worrying about it, let others get worked up about it instead I say

I wanted a crying emotion thing to show how worried I am. I couldn't find one so. I sulking instead.

Some forums seem to always want to open new threads all the time. I'm of a more sparing mentality - if it can fit a thread that's already there, I prefer to add to that.

 

I don't think we need any new game threads atm, unless pepole are fed up with the ones we currently have.

What is the obsession with leagues around here ?

there seems to be leagues and awards for most everything as far as I can tell now I am looking. I suppose the site makes money from traffic and use, so needs to encourage people to keep posting??

In that case, they should get rid of the OF league. It's a block rather than an incentive to post or read any OFs other than ones you are directly involved in.

this is true, it would be a lot better if the OFs could just remain that..Optional! a place to chat and read info about fav artists..without feeling they are in some sort of ongoing competition to prove their worth to people who arent even interested in the artists in most!

I did suggest that they become optional. That way forums could opt out of the race and their members would then feel free to roam like I did last week when I thought they weren't judging on views any more.

 

I don't believe opting out would harm us because a lot of people don't have us on their index anyway. I only have Darius on my index and the new BSB which I haven't set off yet. To read the others, I log off and the whole list comes up. I access each OF's index, scan the threads and if one interests me, I'll read it/post in it.
