do u have any tips for a beginner songwriter!

 

i have done somebeofre but never seem to get a good one going

 

i just wanna write lyrics not music!

 

i got good topics but dont know how to pout that to paper u no!

I stopped writing a few years ago, most of the stuff i did was total bollocks. except one thing that i will treasure forever :D

Oh and dont worry about rhyming things, people always feel they have to do that :P

i have sumn good stuff to write but i dontknow how to start cos my mistakeis i always make a beat in ymhead which is wrong cos then i stick to that whereas i wanna just write lyrics not music

i used to always, think of a title, and think of what you want the meaning of the song to be ^_^

 

Think about what you want it to mean, just get a notepad and write some words down, some sentences even ^_^

 

It just used to come to be, it just takes alot of practise to be honest B)

I can write music but I always struggle with coming up with lyrics and a melody that'll go with it. I think you've just got to write about what you know, what relates to you. Or take something as a point of inspiration, maybe a line from another song and build on that.

 

Whenever I come up with lyrics they're always really $h!t like "Gimme what I want" blah blah blah...

 

I've done one song, I dunno how to describe it, but I love it :lol: I wrote some lyrics for it too which are just rubbish but it's quite fun :D I might post later...

yeh i do the same like i alwaysget a rubbish melody togetehr and then start strong and fall fast with rubbish ones!lol!

Here's the song that I made. It's not very good quality because of the video program I used. I was just messing around with beats and chords but I really like it. I'm gonna change the arrangement so it has verses and choruses and it's really repetitive. anyway, here it is:
