New swing album for Robbie this summer

Saturday, February 3 2007, 14:31 GMT

By Daniel Kilkelly

Robbie Williams is to release a new swing album by the end of the summer.

Executives at the singer's record label EMI are worried after his recent Rudebox album failed to live up to expectations and divided fans. They hope that the new album will turn around Robbie's fortunes and help him to win back his reputation.

A source told the Daily Star: "Rudebox has failed to match the sales of any of Robbie's previous albums and a lot of people are very worried. There's a swing album in the can and the top brass want it in the shops as soon as possible.

"Staff at the label have a lot of affection for Rudebox. But the public hasn't. Everyone's confident that another collection of swing songs will re-connect him to his fanbase."

I think we can expect tomorrow's 3am columb to be all about him going back to Swing after the 'flop' (as they call it) Rudebox

They are thick :puke:

ROB'S £5M HOMES BARGAIN

February 2007

POP king Robbie Williams has bought three seaside homes near a picture postcard village - for a knockdown £5million.

Two have been empty for years while the third was owned by awealthy London banker.

The houses are yards from the beach in Mevagissey, Cornwall, and are surrounded by trees.

A spokesman for local estate agents Lillicrap Chilcott said: "£5million is a bargain - they are worth at least £7million."

Robbie places bet on Las Vegas

The Sun

ROBBIE WILLIAMS will launch his swing album in August with a spectacular showcase gig in Las Vegas.

The singer had vowed to take a year off after his punishing tour schedule in 2005.

But the disastrous performance of his experimental Rudebox album last year has forced him to make an early comeback to appease frustrated label bosses.

It’s not a bad idea for the star to make the most of the huge success of Swing When You’re Winning.

And Robbie in Vegas will be a ticket in massive demand.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Well thats us UK folk stuffed.

With thanks to therobbiewilliamssite.

Robbie and the Red Lion in Stoke on Trent have been added to the VisitEngland national tourism agency UK Rock Map as one of the places to visit.

Article from the Guardian.

Maybe Vicky got something mixed up. It's not like she got the year of the tour right...

Of course Vegas would not be good news for UK & European fans. :o

What do they think who will go to that concert then ?

TAKE THAT HOLD OUT FOR ROBBIE REUNION

Reformed British boy band TAKE THAT haven't given up hope on ex-member ROBBIE WILLIAMS joining them on a forthcoming tour. The PATIENCE hitmakers, who have enjoyed phenomenal success in their native country since reforming early last year (06), haven't performed with Williams since he quit the band in 1995 - and was nowhere to be seen at their concerts last year. But the band haven't given up on the ANGELS singer just yet. Singer MARK OWEN says, "We hoped he'd come and do one night with us. "Rob said he'd have done it if he wasn't touring and making a record himself (RUDEBOX). The timing just never worked out. We all still think that maybe one day it'll happen. "For us anyway, that'd be the icing of the cake."

Oh would they ever just move on. I am getting really tired of them using his name to get publicity whenever they have something to promote.

Well you know, use him when they need to, dump him when they don't

Robbie gets first England shirt

February 07, 2007

SOCCER-mad Robbie Williams will get the first new England shirt for his 33rd birthday next Tuesday — signed by the entire squad.

On the back of the Umbro home strip — fixed up by EMI chiefs — is “Robbie 07â€. A team source said: “We usually only do this for charity, but we made an exception.â€

 Hope it wasn't supposed to be a surprise.
