I am hoping that despite Arctic Monkeys being on a slightly small label they will still manage to get sucessful singles in the future, if it's going to effect them though it will effect Franz Ferdinand too won't it seeing as they're on the same label. However, FF aren't really that sucessful singles wise as it is anyway.

Yep it will affect FF as well. They'll probably have a huge first single and then the rest of the singles they release will struggle to make an impact on the chart.

Not much of a change for Franz Ferdinand then seeing as they usually have a sucessful debut release from an album and then afterwards the album benefits instead of the singles. :)

Yep that's too right. Still it will be intresting to see what they're like in the current market with downloads.

It has been proven though that you can be on any label and have a hit really on downloads, look at that band Koopa for example who didn't have a label did they not?

Yep they didn't have a label. It's not that it's impossible for them to chart, it's just if it's difficualt or them to chart highly if y'know what I mean.

I undestand what you mean, but hopefully Arctic's will advertise the fact that people can actually download the song and hopefully their CD sales are as good as they have been in the past. :)

Yep hopefully. ^_^ I don't quite know how they would get across into the download market though. It's a bit like Morrisey, and how he doesn't sell may downloads.

Fall Out Boy actually had TV advertisements about 'This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race,' been avaliable to download, Arctic's could possibly do something similar. :)

That's an idea. :P I dunno whether they'd agree to that though. I mean they're not the biggest fans of flanking themeselves everywhere. But I guess it just depends what Domino does.

Chances are Domino will probably just promote them as they usually do and just hope for the best, in all honesty when Domino signed Arctic Monkeys with them being such a small label they probably expected them as a band to have some mediocre sucess but nothing more so it was more than likely a bonus when they got the amount of support that they did. :)

Yep. I don't think Domino were expecting the sucess of the album at all. I think that's why they didn't really bother with releasing anymore singles.

I think it was a good idea that there weren't any more singles from that album because the album had sold that much another single would have probably flopped, Arctic Monkeys are very much a fanbase based band imo though so maybe it would have charted high and fell quickly?

Yes I agree they will have most likely flopped. Chances are they won't have done too much for the album either as The Arctics seemed to be a band a bit like U2, that is centered around its fanbase and they chart high but have no real staying power.

Arctic's claim that their next album is going to be much faster though so maybe they can manage to gain many more fans, hopefully they won't lose many fans in the progress either. :)

Well I hope they don't lose too many fans. I guess it just depends on the direction that the new album takes.

I think whatever sound they make they are bound to lose fans, they would even if they kept the sound exactly the same. Personally I'm glad that they're making their sound faster as it shows progression no matter what the finish product is like. :)

Well whatever the new sound of the album is like, some are bound to like it whilst others are bound to hate it. They just can't win. :(

Bands always lose fans no matter what they do.

Have you voted for a forum of The Ordinary Boys btw, if not can you please do so as every vote counts. :) Thanks. :D

It's harsh isn't it? :(

Yep I have. :D ^_^

It's very harsh on bands actually as the majority are just trying to please their fans and they end up losing some in the process. Having said that if the new sound was to be complete c**p then you can't actually blame the fans. The majority of times bands lose fans through stupid reasons though.
