Well done to SharonB for her win, DJ Charly remains at the top of the leaderboard, points were fairly static since there was only 11 covers. And Sabby makes a hig new entry on the leaderboard

 

Sorry Russt points halfed, otherwise I never hear the end of it.

 

Set a challenge for this week, all covers must be in by Friday 9pm, and you can change your cover anytime if you wish to, but all covers must be submitted by the deadline

What am I suppose to do since everyone voted for it -_-

I've never heard of this song so I've gone for more of a concept cover than an artistic cover...

Come on, there are always covers in this comp that are simply pictures/photos with text written on them!!! I know I commented on it being unlike him to do that cos we're used to Russ designing something himself, but that shouldn't change the votes just cos it IS Russ?!? You can't take away the fact that everyone voted for it because they liked it, which is ultimately the point of the competition!!!? :blink:

That's what I said everybody voted for it, so in the end I just halfed his points, It just seem fair to meet members half way, anyhow I just hope members won't deter from applying, what else can I do :mellow:

As for the image I used... SO WHAT? It was an image I found, flipped, altered the colours, added some blurred layers.... isn't this what we're supposed to do here? Use photos that match the song title and do what we will with them? Many you see entered don't even alter the colours... they're literally copied and pasted direct from the web....

 

As you say, Sharon - aren't the majority of covers entered simply photos of the artists? Downloaded from the web? With text on top?

 

The ONE time I don't construct my own image... hehe.... the likes of Eliotsan, Boyan and Simply Jack are up in arms that it's a... strewth...a photo DOWNLOADED FROM THE WEB??? Err... :blink: :o

 

So this new ruling will, of course, will mean that EVERY design that simply features a photo from the web with text on top (i.e. three quarters...at least... of the entries)... will automatically have their points halved? If this rule applies to all, then of course, it's a fair one to slash my points... otherwise... hmm... a bit dodgy don't you think? I sense this is more about me and my position in the leaderboard than the work entered... don't you, Elliotsan et al? Anyway - from here on in, EVERY entry that does as I did - I think we need a reply underneath that these entries are NOT acceptable, just to keep in line with the 'new' rules.

It'll be VERY interesting this week to see who will construct a cover from scratch without using web-downloaded pics... :o

i was gonna start entering, deffo NOT now.

 

i would have just done something, similar to what russ :) did.
