NUMBER 20 - JEEPSTER

This is the infamous (To t rex fans) performance of jeepster on Dirk Kirshners rock concert in november 1974. By then, marc was a washed up star. Hes most recent single, Zip Gun Boogie had only made no.41, whilst just one year ago, he was still filing the air waves and dominating charts with songs like 20th Centry Boy (No.3 in march 1973) and The Groover (No.4 in mid 1973). Marc had put on weight, sacked hes drummer and included Gloria Jones in his band (Shed had a massive hit with her song, "Tainted Love" in 1964)

This was marcs final performance in america.

Although his full scale come back was not yet underway (Ill talk about that on other songs). This was performed on supersonic, which hed been making regualer apearences on since 1975.

NUMBER 18 - Metal Guru

This is it. The height of glam rock. The very peak of marcs success. Another "Straight To No.1" hit single. Thus showed just how populer marc really was. Reportedly selling 100,000 records a day, he was at a comercial peak during the summer of 1972. It proceeded hes biggest selling album, The Slider and hes hit film "Born To Boogie". The only way from here was down....

NUMBER 17 - DANDY IN THE UNDERWORLD

This is marcs final tv performance outside of his populer programme "Marc" which featured him playing 4 songs per show, and other bands including David Bowie, The Jam and Generation X also apearing. This was T.Rexs penultimate single, and didnt go top 40. But this is not to say marc hadnt acheived some fandom back. Hes album of the same name went In at No.26, and hed recently had hes own chat show, interviewing such people as Telly Savalis, Angie Bowie, Stan lee and others.....

NUMBER 16 - 20th CENTURY BOY

This is the premiere of what was to become one of T.Rex's most famous and populer songs. Performed on MusicLaden in Germany, With Marc now sporting a sun tan and shorter hair, it was the start of a decline in record sales. No longer could marc be garanteed the No.1 spot with each release, 20th Century boy made No.3 in the u.k. Whilst any other band would of been happy with this, marc was not.

NUMBER 15 - SOLID GOLD EASY ACTION

In the final few months months of 1972, marc had been recieving a cirtain amount of critiscm from the Music magazines and some fans. They said marcs songs were becoming "Samey" and "Repetative". So marc lashed back with this. Whilst showing slight change, it really wasnt that much different. If Marc was to really sustain hes fame, hed need a complete new image.....

Cue "2oth Century Boy".....

Hot love was the start of glam rock. It all started on Top Of The Pops in feb 1971. Just minuites before hes performance, June, His wife, added some glitter beneath his eyes, and his performance was legendary. An overnight succes, the next day the record proppelled up into the No.1 slot.

NUMBER 13 - LASER LOVE

The follow up to "I love To Boogie", this only reached No.42. But thats not whats important about it.

This Marked a turn in Many things. Firstly, Gloria had now left the band, Resulting in Second Guitarist Miller Anderson on backing vocals. Secondly, it featured a new look for Marc. Almost peceeding the new romantic fashion by 5 years, Hes hair was the shortest it had been in 9 years aswell. Promoted as "A New Age Of T.Rex" it certainly did have a diffeent feel about it.

NUMBER 11 - CHILDREN OF THE REVOLUTION

This was taken from Marc, Ringo starrs, and Elton johns film, Born To Boogie. The film had no storyline, but did feature varios live songs and strange scenes featuring Cat Weazle. Although it was directed by ringo so what do you expect???

Children... Was the first PROPER T.Rex single not to go to no.1. But it did become their biggest hit, and their most famous song.

NUMBER 6 - BUICK MACANE

Marcs version of Heavy Metal! From music laden 1973, it showed a possible new direction for T.Rex, but tit never really took off. Tooken from 1972's Silder album, its much more pupmed up here with heavy rousing guitars and heavier druming.

NUMBER 5 - TOKEN OF MY LOVE

This is another track from Don Kirshners Rock Concert. It showed a now overweight, sluggish tired bolan. For some reason theyed slowed the song down to a minimal pace, but for some reason i like it!

The birth of hes son Rolan. all the recent publicity proppeled this into the charts, although not as high marc wanted, it still reached No.30

NUMBER 2 - I LOVE TO BOOGIE

Marcs biggest later day hit. Although it only reached number 13 in the summer of 1976, it became a classic T rex song. And it showed that marc was still around. Hed lost the weight and cut hes hair short, and looked healthier than ever. Thus was another Totp performance, and was actually live! Although for some reason the tempo was completely changed....

And nw onto No.1.......

NUMBER 1 - ZIP GUN BOOGIE

T.Rex's least succesfull single. No.42 in november 1974. At the height of the Downfall period of marcs career. He even claimed to Newspapers "T.Rex Was Dead, It no Longer Exists"!! He also threatened to embark on a solo career to Totp magazine. The following album "Bolans Zip Gun" didnt even carry the T.Rex name. It seemed marc had faling, and was now a washed up superstar. Hed also now relocated to America, living in hollywood with Gloria Jones, who was now part of T.Rex as Backing Vocals/Clavinet.

Hope evryone takes the time to watch all these. it took me hours to do...
