Couple jailed over 'horrific' child abuse

A couple who abused their three-year-old daughter during a campaign of horrific torture have been jailed for a total of 22 years.

 

Kimberly Harte, 23, and her partner, Samuel Duncan, 27, began the "systematic violence" just weeks after the child was returned to her parents having lived briefly with foster parents.

 

In the horrific case which echoes that of Victoria Climbie, the little girl had boiling water poured over her hands, had large clumps of hair ripped from her scalp, was kicked repeatedly in the groin and was locked naked in the toilet each night.

 

She was also forced to eat her own faeces.

 

Her injuries were so severe, London's Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court heard, she had to be examined by doctors under anaesthetic.

 

Identified only as "Child B", she was repeatedly abused until her grandmother began to suspect what was going on and called in social services.

 

In 2000, eight-year-old Victoria Climbie died after she was starved, tied up and beaten by her great-aunt Marie-Therese Kouao and her boyfriend Carl Manning.

There's just no way to respond to that is there? Absolutely evil, despicable people.

How can you do that to your own child?

I was just horrified and shocked when I read it, I actually think the boiling water bit horrifies me most.

Your are right. There are no words to describe these sick bast*rds and what they did. i just keep tryng to imagine what that poor child had to go through and I just cant. That poor poor girl.

In 2005, there were two similar cases in Portugal that really shocked me and veryone else. One of them was of a baby beaten and molestated by her own father. The baby was only 50 DAYS OLD!

it wasnt their own child, it was fostered...however that is no excuse..

They should remove Rule 43 and make them segregate with other prisoners, at the very least he will be someone's b**ch getting the Marcellus Wallace treatment for a long time or be killed very quickly

This case is truly sickening. It's impossible to understand how anyone can be so evil to a defenceless child.

I heard this girl had cerebral palsy and her injuries where so bad her liver is permantly damaged. :o

What a ridiculous thing to say! The child was three years old, for God's sake. Hardly more than a baby.
