Posted February 9, 200718 yr Source digitalspy The Arctic Monkeys have opted out from appearing at the Brit Awards again - this time in order to film the video for their new single. The band have been nominated in the Best Album and Best Group categories, but have said that instead of attending the ceremony they will concentrate on completing the promotional video for 'Brainstorm'. Matt Helders, the band's drummer, told the BBC that they were not trying to make a point in not attending the awards. He explained: "We're filming the video that day, so we're not going to be anywhere near it. We haven't snubbed it, we're just busy boys getting ready to go on tour again." Their new album Favourite Worst Nightmare is released on April 23, and preceded by 'Brainstorm' a week earlier.
February 9, 200718 yr It would have been great promotion had Arctic Monkeys attended but at the same time I suppose a video is bigger promotion.

February 9, 200718 yr Well I think they'll probably be one of the main artists that they'll want at the brits next year :D And I think they'll do it then, I fear that Snow Patrol might undeservadly get their award(s) this year because of this though. :(
February 9, 200718 yr I've actually decided since 'Chasing Cars,' that Snow Patrol weren't bad and then I heard their album 'Eyes Open,' and actually thought that was good, but they don't deserve to beat Arctic's and if they did it would be ridiculous as Arctic's had such a huge impact on Britain in 2006 despite Snow Patrol having the biggest selling album.

Well personally for me The Arctics album is better than Snow Patrols, but it's all down to the critics and what they think. It has recieved a lot of critical success though like winning the Mercury Prize so hopefully it can win best album! :D ^_^
February 10, 200718 yr Hopefully the critics shall pick Arctic Monkeys to win the awards then after the impact, critical acclaim and sucess they had last year. :D Edited February 10, 200718 yr by TheOrdinaryArcticBoy
