Time to start this week's countdown  We have a Top 13, and it gets presented live tonight  SO, any comment is welcomed :D Enjoy! B) xox.

13. Towers Of London - I'm A Rat

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/Cornholio44/Sotw/20070212/TowersOfLondon-ImARat.jpg >>>>

Bless. All that drinking seems to have effected poor Donny Tourette's hearing.

'I'm A Rat?' no sir, you're a t***, and I don't think the nation will ever forgive the

producers of Big Brother for inflicting your band on mainstream society.

'I'm A Rat' doesn't start out all that bad for a 'Towers Of London' song, it's air-raid

siren intro and Guns N Roses guitar riff is reminiscent of early Manic Street Preachers,

but then Tourette's vocals - I use the word loosely - kick in. The man can't sing, shout,

moan, speak, in anything even resembling the talent a front man should have,

and without that, the band are nothing.

Damn that Big Brother, without it I'd never of had to hear this $h!t.

After number 13, it's time to move on, to a track that I preferred reviewing myself :puke2: Kidding, given that it was voted :arrr: There you go... xox.

12. Akon & Snoop Dogg - I Wanna Love U

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/Cornholio44/Sotw/20070212/AkonSnoopDogg-IWannaLoveU.jpg >>>>

'I Wanna Love You' is the second single by Akon

(featuring Snoop Dogg), from his sophomore album 'Konvicted'. The track also

features on Snoop Dogg's eighth album, 'Tha Blue Carpet Treatment'.

The was song originally made by an up and coming rapper from Ft. Myers,

Florida, Plies, but his verse was replaced by Snoop's due to his arrest.

It's Saturday night, I'm Alan, and I'm presenting you the Singles released this Monday, that you voted for... Before we enter the top 10, here is an interesting number 11 B) Enjoy! xox.

11. Liam Frost & The Slowdown Family – She Painted Pictures

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/Cornholio44/Sotw/20070212/LiamFrostTheSlowdownFamilyShePainte.jpg >>>>

Liam Frost has always struck me as someone passionately

upholding the endangered values of acoustic music, while showing enough of a

pioneering edge to steer clear of the prosaic trappings of the "traditionalist".

While acoustic hierarchs like Steve Earle seem to have lost the plot

with all-consuming political agendas, Frost's Show Me How The Spectres Dance LP

last year collected sensitive souls like a modern indie ark, delivering a host of

variegated nuggets distinguished by the unmistakeable soul of a poet, of which

She Painted Pictures was a definite highlight.

With a rhythmic fury to match his impassioned delivery, the track evokes

the remaining fragments of a blown relationship like a million dancing ghosts,

and any dubiousness of a third single release from a long-released album is

tempered by two B-sides that sway with his unique, slow-burning romanticism.

Frost is a burgeoning presence in new folk circles, and this is a timely reminder

of his considerable charm.

Time to enter the top 10 :yahoo: At number 10, we find Cherish, with a second single released in UK <_< Enjoy! B) xox.

10. Cherish - Unappreciated

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/Cornholio44/Sotw/20070212/Cherish-Unappreciated.jpg >>>>

Released February 12th, the infectious Unappreciated

is a frank testament from a lover who is being taken for granted.

Unappreciated is the follow up to Cherish's debut single Do It To It which

spent 8 weeks in the Top 75.

Time to move on with the Single Of The Week countdown, and I hope that when we'll have decent songs, you'll do some comments too  At number 9 it's time for Simon Webbe ;) xox.

09. Simon Webbe - My Soul Pleads For You

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/Cornholio44/Sotw/20070212/SimonWebbe-MySoulPleadsForYou.jpg >>>>

Since Simon Webbe has taken flight as a solo artist

it seems to have given him an inner assurance. Often on TV appearances with his

ex-band mates Blue he would come across as rather arrogant, a side to the singer

that made him unappealing and difficult to take seriously.

Now he's a fully fledged vocalist in his own right, and My Soul Pleads For You is the

latest in an increasingly long line of quality single releases. This one brings a new

emotional twist and more than a hint of vulnerability in its needy lyrics, not written

by Webbe but sung from the heart to a guitar line brushed with Mediterranean flavour.

As the second album After All This Time continues to do well this will spark more

interest in those who haven't yet investigated. At the very least it's confirmation

that he's now one of Britain's finest male vocalists - soulful and assured.

Before we see better songs that were released this Monday, at number 7 we have a 7" release... B) ... xox.

07. Metric – Empty

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/Cornholio44/Sotw/20070212/MetricEmpty.jpg >>>>

A couple of years ago, the British went mad for

all things Canadian. The Wainwrights, Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene, every act

that came over from the land of the Maple Leaf seemed blissfully cool, esoteric and

marvellously listenable.

Metric are friends with Broken Social Scene (indeed, lead singer Emily Haines does

guest vocals on perhaps their finest moments, Anthem For A Seventeen Year Old Girl)

and continue the Canuck tradition of excellence. Empty starts off all quiet and whispery

for a few minutes, before exploding into a barrage of noise halfway through, and then

calming down again for a synth-accompanied ending. Emily Haines could recite a list of

cooking ingredients and make it sound like the most seductive thing you've ever heard,

and she's suitably heart-melting here.

It may not grab you by the scruff of the neck like their previous single Monster Hospital

did, but here's more proof that Metric are amongst Canada's finest bands.

At number 6 we have another big female artist, that released quite a decent song last Monday :) Prepare yourself for the TOP 5 ^_^ CHeers for the positive comments on the new layout B) xox.

06. Corinne Bailey Rae – I'd Like To

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/Cornholio44/Sotw/20070212/CorinneBaileyRaeIdLikeTo.jpg >>>>

'I'd Like To' demonstrates a different side to Corinne.

More reminiscent of the playful pop of 'Put Your Records On' than the angelic beauty

of 'Like A Star' it is both a nostalgic glimpse back to Corinne's early years growing up

amongst summer parties and heatwaves and a sensual song of desire. An uptempo

soul stomp 'I'd Like To' is one of the highlights of Corinne's critically acclaimed

self-titled, multi-million selling debut album and a firm live favourite.

Time to enter the Top 5, and here we start with a Dance song :yahoo: I voted for it too, and I'm gonna listen to this at a high volume :P xox.

05. Dance Nation - Move Your Love

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/Cornholio44/Sotw/20070212/DanceNation-MoveYourLove.jpg >>>>

Following on from a massive year in 2006 with Top 10

hits from the likes of Beatfreakz, Sharam & Fedde Le Grand, Data Records look set for

even more success in 2007.

With a string of hit records ready to be unleashed on dancefloors across the country

and storm in to the UK charts, ‘Move Your Love’ by Dance Nation is no exception.

Dance Nation are an act from the Netherlands consisting of two young talented artists

Kim & Sean. Kim V is a gorgeous 21 year old singer who’s artistic vocal talents began

to show at the tender age of 5! After fine tuning her vocals in her teens she was chosen

to be a member of an all girl R&B group where extensive touring meant she gained

the invaluable experience of performing live to large audiences. Joining Kim to make

Dance Nation a formidable force and live show is Sean, 25, who was practically born

on the stage. Sean started out as a dancer before his ambition to perform led on to

him developing his singing & production talent.

‘Move Your Love’ is an uplifting main room dance track with Kim’s vocals laced over

the riff taken from the Top 10 hit by Barthezz, ‘On The Move’. The two combined

create the perfect commercial dance anthem for 2007 that is sure to follow in the

footsteps of other European acts such as Infernal & Cascada in setting the

UK charts alight.

There’s remixes for all including Inspiration Vibes that caters for the more electro

twinged house heads, and for the harder dance floors Micky Modelle,

Shampoo & Dance Nation DJ Extended mixes. Plus a special remix to come

from Soul Avengerz.

Emma Bunton returns in 2007, with another cool song... Here she is, at number 4 :cheer: xox.

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/Cornholio44/Sotw/20070212/EmmaBunton-AllINeedToKnow.jpg >>>>

Emma Bunton kicks off 2007 with brand new single

'All I Need To Know', the opening track from her latest album 'Life In Mono'.

Co-written by Emma with Jamie Hartman (Will Young, Natalie Imbruglia),

'All I Need To Know' is a beautifully tender, timeless and elegant track, with

Emma's vocals gliding softly over a gentle melody of strings and piano, paying

Even if it was quite a blend week, the top 3 looks quite good... with big artists featured in here. Red Hot Chili Peppers , for example, are at number 3 B) xox.

03. Red Hot Chilli Peppers – Desecration Smile

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/Cornholio44/Sotw/20070212/RedHotChilliPeppersDesecrationSmile.jpg >>>>

The opening track on the Mars disc of 'Stadium Arcadium',

'Desecration Smile' contrasts melancholic verses reminiscent of the 'Californication'

single 'Road Trippin' with a powerful, driving chorus. As with the rest of 'Stadium Arcadium',

'Desecration Smile' was produced by Rick Rubin in the same house in the Hollywood Hills

that the band recorded the 1991 landmark album 'BloodSugarSexMagik'.

02. The Feeling – Rosé

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y173/Cornholio44/Sotw/20070212/TheFeeling-Ros.jpg >>>>

The Feeling well and truly triumphed last year,

becoming the most radio played act of 2006! The band now return in 2007

with their next single, 'Rose', a brave and bold ode to lead singer

Dan Gillespie-Sells' sexuality, lyrically explored through the bottle of the title.
