Posted February 13, 200718 yr From the first sounds of “This town ain’t big enough for the two of usâ€, brothers Ron and Russell Mael were one of the weirdest band to hit the UK shores. One looked like Charlie Chaplin and the other pranced about singing completely incompressible lyrics. Their music can best be described as - a high speed, barely decipherable, falsetto vocal over a gutsy, keyboard-driven backing. Success did not last for long, but they keep reappearing every few years and are still popular on the continent.
February 14, 200718 yr 'This Town' was great. I'd also say Hitler more than Chaplin, but that's just me.

February 16, 200718 yr Morrissey's biggest lyrical influence - wry, clever lyrics and always great songs, too. My favourite stuff is the Giorgio Moroder-produced stuff of the late 70s, but Angst in my pants is a fabulous album. Their new stuff is worth checking, too.....
