Ohh just randomly notice it's on e4 on Wednesday at 10.30pm

 

Brilliant show, from the makers of Green Wing if you've never seen it. :D

I never found anything funny about this to be honest :mellow:
like most sketch shows (enfield, fast show etc) they are patchy... they can be extremely funny one minute and leave you cold the next, smack the pony was no different.

I think it was different. But yeah sure there are less funny sketches but then it was a totally unique and fresh way at doing sketches. Mostly it's funny and top marks for it's really observant sketches. It almost had a kind of realism to it and was popular more so in it's last series. They only stopped the show as they didn't want to scrape the barrel. You can see how they used it for Green Wing though which is funny for the whole hour, personally I find all of both shows hilarious but comedy works for some and doesnt for others.

Well, yeah...actually no, I wont bother. Doesn't really affect me. I'm never gonna have kids anyway.

I got series 1 DVD recently and there's so many genius sketches in it, and quite a lot re-used for Green Wing. Still Sally Phillips and Doon Mackichan are in series 2 of Green Wing so it'll feel even more STP-ish! :D

Yeah the DVD came out in Germany in January, but it's region 2 and english and you can get it on eBay...tis where I got mine.

 

The Best Of is really so not the best off. Watching that Series 2 episode on e4 had literally all the sketches in it on the dvd, and there's hardly any from series 1 on it! Complete series 1 is much better!!!

 

It's sooooo funny, so many forgotten and unseen stuff on the DVD.
