Posted February 16, 200718 yr BBC has confirmed to esctoday.com that the UK will have the 4th edition of Making your mind up to select this year's representative to the Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki. Last December it was announced by the BBC that "This is Eurovision's 52nd year and it's growing bigger all the time as rumours abound about who'll be representing the UK, with everyone from Morrissey to the Scissor Sisters apparently in the frame. The UK entry will be chosen in mid-March, in a primetime special". It can now be confirmed that the primetime special will be indeed the 4th edition of Making your mind up! Furthermore, in a communication with esctoday.com the rumors that have been spread concerning Billie Piper's participation have been denied as false. No information on the participants or the exact date is available yet. Stay tuned for the latest and most reliable information on the British selection process. I hope we get the scissor sisters, we would so win :kink: esctoday.com

February 27, 200718 yr If it's not an unknown it'll be some washed up ex-star. If the Scissor Sisters represent the UK then I'll personally eat the hat of every single Buzzjack member.
February 27, 200718 yr esctoday.com has provided some more information. It is NOT on the 10th March, which gives me the impression it may be on a Sunday night, or maybe a Friday. Liz McLarnon and Brian Harvey are still very much in the frame, Brian's song being called "I can" The Puppini Sisters and Big Brovaz still candidates, and BB's song is likely to be "Big Bro Thang" Anybody remember Scooch?? The Steps that never were? Apparently they have reformed (very likely, as iTunes added a few of their songs today), with a couple of new faces and are likely to be taking part... Also ESC Today were quite cryptic about the 6th candidate. All they said was that it is associated with a children's toy and would be a welcome surprise to British Eurovision fans....which has got me thinking....Could it be Sandie Shaw????

Sandie Shaw would be AMAZING. :o We'd definately have a different entry then! Also, on Sunday 11th March BBC One have empty slots for 8.00pm-9.00pm, 9.00pm-10.00pm and 10.15pm-10.45pm... could these be the times?
February 27, 200718 yr Aqua could also be linked to the children's toy part after "Barbie Girl"... one of the rumours on ESC Today.

February 27, 200718 yr Aqua could also be linked to the children's toy part after "Barbie Girl"... one of the rumours on ESC Today. have they sorted out all their relationship problems and all got back together?? and where does that leave lazyboy? http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000GL1700.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V62321021_.jpg
February 27, 200718 yr UNLIKELY to be Aqua, possibly Lene though... Aqua were great!!! best ever pop band from Scandinavia that features both men and women and someone from Norway imo.
February 28, 200718 yr The official date for MYMU is Saturday 17th March. This means we will be the last country to select our song. The BBC have permission from the EBU to go past the deadline and everything is Ok. The venue will hold a thousand people, and this late date means that we will be in the unusual position of knowing our place in the running order without actually knowing our song!
February 28, 200718 yr The 17th is incerdibly late. :o I wonder why we're so late this year? At least the BBC have everything sorted with the EBU though. I'm disappointed the Puppini Sisters aren't in the running though. :( I'd've rather had them to Hawkins.
