February 20, 200718 yr They've had 1 big hit and that was $h!t, they probably won't have another Raoul was better but if they can only get 1 top 20 after all the promotion they've got no future it seems i cant see why that wasnt bigger. it was better record He sounds more like Freddy Mercury than el Miko though :D dont use bad language such as that when around indie kids
February 20, 200718 yr i cant see why that wasnt bigger. it was better record Well......it was released twice wasn't it? Yet another pointless re-release of something that wouldn't do any better the second time round. Although that's more to do with the policies of B-Unique record who are famous for sticking things out over and over again. At the end of 2005 I said the Automatic and Boy Kill Boy would be fighting it out for the Kaiser Chief's crown. Now I see they've both f***ed it up and the Kaisers have come back to show them how it's done. 'Monster' isn't a guilty pleasure. It's an average song which became really extremely tiresome very quickly. The Automatic have probably done enough to get a second album though. I see them as this generation's Space, just much, much worse.
February 20, 200718 yr Author all there songs are good just cause they re-released songs and didnt get eny where dont mean theyb are c**p if eny thing is c**p its ur taste in music Edited February 20, 200718 yr by paige
February 20, 200718 yr Well......it was released twice wasn't it? Yet another pointless re-release of something that wouldn't do any better the second time round. Although that's more to do with the policies of B-Unique record who are famous for sticking things out over and over again. but mate your looking from a different perspective, your someone who will actaully look left field for the most intersing bands on the fringes. everyone else is only bothered in what narrowcasters are playing on the radio/press are talking bout. so i would expect monster is the first thing a lot of people knew At the end of 2005 I said the Automatic and Boy Kill Boy would be fighting it out for the Kaiser Chief's crown. Now I see they've both f***ed it up and the Kaisers have come back to show them how it's done. i was listening to a bit of Boy Kill Boy tonight and the thought that nobody gonna take much notice of them now crossed my mind whereas KC's have all moved up into that celeb bracket too. if theres a band to produce another Alex James it would be them, ready for weddings, bar mitzvahs and freezing your bollocks off in the Independent for the anti-sauna article  The Automatic have probably done enough to get a second album though. I see them as this generation's Space, just much, much worse. so a novelty act then in the eyes of the press
February 21, 200718 yr Author Damn, so it is. I wish I'd bought two copies of Recover and Raoul now. grr i hate you
February 21, 200718 yr well i think Raoul is gonna get smashed not because its good or bad just because of it's shape. its getting in the way at home
February 23, 200718 yr I am a fan of The Automatic actually and 'Monster,' is definitley the best song on 'Not Accepted Anywhere,' but there are other good songs but unfortunatley none of them would be as sucessful as 'Monster,' seeing as it was a bit of a novelty song to be fair. The only song that I thought could maybe equal the sucess or get similar sucess was 'Raoul,' but it flopped. Edited February 23, 200718 yr by TheOrdinaryArcticBoy
February 25, 200718 yr btw does the Raoul Ep count as one of the Raoul single releases or is that in fact an album (and just a sneaky marketing plan not for it to be the debut?)???
February 25, 200718 yr Author btw does the Raoul Ep count as one of the Raoul single releases or is that in fact an album (and just a sneaky marketing plan not for it to be the debut?)??? what you mean raoul was a song the albums called not accepted any where
February 26, 200718 yr what you mean raoul was a song the albums called not accepted any where If the last Babyshambles EP charted as a 5 track album what does this make this: http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000GPI312.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V41399756_.jpg 1. Recover 2. Jack Daniels 3. Song 6 4. Raoul 5. On The Campaign Trail 6. Trophy Wives 7. Night Drive 8. High Tide On Caroline Street
February 26, 200718 yr Raoul wasn't even the debut. Recover was out first in 2005 and both versions of Raoul were chart eligible when released. What you have there looks like an import release.
February 26, 200718 yr Author is a ep like a album or a single Edited February 26, 200718 yr by paige
February 26, 200718 yr half way in between. It stands for extended play and can be anything from three to about six or seven tracks. The key is that it retails for the price of a single which is generally only a two track release. Value for money (normally).
February 26, 200718 yr I like monster and the Raoul but that is it. It is not my taste in music but good thread though.
