Does anyone else think he's training the heroes for some sexual powers? :o

Come to think of it...I did feel strangely aroused when Linderman was on screen...

Heroes' Creators Look At Year Two

Tim Kring, creator of NBC's Heroes, told SCI FI Wire that he and his writing staff are looking ahead at season two and that if they've taken one lesson from their freshman year, it's this: Don't be afraid to reveal secrets, even big ones, along the way. "I have to admit I feel pretty good about the fact that we didn't leave a lot of things dangling for people," Kring said in an interview at Wizard World in Los Angeles on March 17. "There were one or two moments where there were things we had answers to and we couldn't film them, or we cut them in the editing room, and I regret that. But I do think this idea ... of not being too precious with any one idea is really an important lesson: to be willing to kill people off and take the really tough decisions to kill off characters that may be fairly popular for the sake of reinventing the show. It has to have a kind of constant sense of reinvention, or else we're going to die of our own inertia."

Kring added that he and his writers are trying to avoid the problems that other TV shows encountered after hitting big in their first seasons, only to falter in subsequent seasons. "The other big thing is we just have to reveal things in a timely fashion and not let them build up," he said, pointing to the example of The X-Files, which built up so much mythology over the course of 10 years that no answers were likely to satisfy the audience. Kring added: "I think we want to have some more romance, I think we're missing that. I'd like to have some more romance on the show."

Kring also said that he wants to tell a few more stories, along the lines of this year's "Company Man," that detour away from the season's main story arc and delve a bit deeper into the backstory of a single character or two.

With the examples of Twin Peaks and even Lost, Kring is aware of the pressure for Heroes to maintain its quality and appeal. "I'm as worried about that as anyone else," he said. "I would be lying if I said that that doesn't keep me up at night. Because I do think that you only get one chance to really have a first impression, and that first blush, like anything else in life, whether it's food or a relationship, ... always has a certain bloom on it that is hard to relive. That being said, one of the ... basic premises of the show was setting up a world and a premise that would allow us to rejuvenate and not to be locked onto the same characters. So some of that secret weapon is the ability to bring on some new people. And I think since it's a show where I think mostly the reason that people watch it is they're enjoying the characters, ... if we can create new characters that people are intrigued by, you get a chance to start afresh with people. So that's the whole conceit. And then the other thing was the idea of trying to wrap things up in one season. Or one volume. And then start over in the next volume, but something new, so you give people the sense that there are closed-ended qualities to the show." Heroes will wrap its first season with new episodes beginning April 23 in its regular timeslot, Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT

I really don't like the sound of that article. It seems to me that he's hinting that he's really not afraid to kill of big characters ala Peter, Claire and Hiro who are the best characters on the show. I get the impression that there will definitley be more death though in the last 5 episodes now.

Well, Isaac's gonna die obviously! Erm... I wouldn't be surprised if HRG was killed off also!

I think Issac will die. Maybe HRG too, I think it would be more likely that DL or whatever his name is, to die though. Anyone else seen the trailer for the next few episodes? Looks very good. Can't wait till it comes back in just over a week now.: D

So what did everyone think about ep19?

I thought it was a bit of a let down :( It was alright, but I was a bit bored.

They tried to put too much into one episode I think. The Peter vs Sylar showdown was a bit of a let down, but yeah it was blatantly obvious that Peter wasn't actually going to die, because he's supposivley the one that goes boom in New York.

Not really suprised Issac got his brain removed from his head either. I mean it says something when a reccuring character has said more lines than a main character! Him and Simone were the characters that had no depth to them though. The rest of them all have family connections and other characters connected to them.

I'm really looking forward to this weeks ep though. :D

Ok. Episode 20: Five years gone.

Is there any other word we can use apart from wow? Possibly the best episode ever.

Again though - so much crammed into it. I may need to watch it again!

That was easily the best episode YET. The twist in it got me completley, but the writers kind of threw us a few red herrings to chew on to throw us off the case.

I'm I getting this right that if the future isn't changed then, Ando and Micah will die in the bomb? Nathan should die sometime after as well, but not in the bomb.

How many episodes of this is there just watched all the way up to 20 & Love It! so much at one point I thought It was way better than lost! :D
Yep. And DL. I still think DL and Ando will probably die in the season finale.

Doesn't Sylar kill DL though? He seemed to have his power at least. I think Micha's safe. For one it would be bad to kill a kid off, and two the only reason he wasn't in the 5 Years In The Future was really to do with the fact that the boy who plays him, couldn't pull being 5 years older than he actually is, off. Not sure whether Ando will die. There's not much point to his charchter now, but we've seen for Hiro reacts when he's not about and I dont think present Hiro will turn into future Hiro...

There's 3 left now. One more kind of a stand alone episode then it's a 2-part season finale split over 2 weeks, or at least I think it is.

OMG, Claire's real father is Nathan :o Never saw that coming

Not sure what to make of the finale...

I liked how they all came together at the end, and near enough everyone had a pop at Sylar. Are we really to believe both Peter and Nathan are dead though? It was hinted Peter would survive, but i'm not too sure Nathan would've done though.

Series 2 has been set up nicely though, with Hiro, and also the fact that there's another bad guy who's worse than Sylar, well according to Molly. :o

The finale was rubbish IMO. The showdown with Sylar was really inadequate, I don't get why Hiro didn't do that 10 episodes ago and the bomb was just...cheesy. It was obviously done like that so there would be enough to develop on in series 2 but it's such a let down when the rest of the series seemed to be hurtling to an awesome finale.

That's where I'm up to, and easily the best episode, a lot of twists and a few answers
