The comic book adaptation earned $44.5m (£22.8m) from Friday to Sunday, according to studio estimates. Disney fantasy Bridge to Terabithia opened in second place, with last week's number one, Eddie Murphy comedy Norbit, down to third. Romantic comedies Music and Lyrics and Daddy's Little Girls debuted at fourth and fifth in the chart. Ghost Rider's debut weekend was the biggest north American opening of the year so far, despite largely poor reviews for the film. "A comic book franchise is not born with this stillborn debut of Marvel's Ghost Rider," said the Hollywood Reporter, while Variety said the film "never measures up" to the character's "infernal potential". Cage plays a motorbike stunt rider inhabited by the supernatural title character, a sort of bounty hunter for a demon. He is joined in the cast by Peter Fonda, Sam Elliott, Wes Bentley and Eva Mendes. Overall box office revenues rose for the first time in six weekends, and the top 12 movies took $141.4m (£72.5m) - 28% more than the same time last year.
February 20, 200718 yr Author dont know what to think about that one. the words 'Nicolas Cage action movie' slightly offputting
February 23, 200718 yr Hmmm, i think the 12A rating might spoilt it to be honest. Probably end up going to see it as it looks decent on the trailer
February 23, 200718 yr Well, if it's anything like the majority of Comic Book adaptions, then I think it'll stink up the entire cinema with its presence.... <_<
February 25, 200718 yr Author Well, if it's anything like the majority of Comic Book adaptions, then I think it'll stink up the entire cinema with its presence.... <_< but hey man give it the benefit of doubt. oh $h!t just realized i mentioned the words 'Nicolas Cage' in a previous post. case closed me thinks
March 12, 200718 yr Author THIS. LOOKS. SH!T. it was a bit. well Cage seems to be playing Elvis again and Fonda is trying to out Jack, Jack Nicholson. actually think it would have been better if at the point where Cage says he's gonna become a big monster he inflates like weird al and ends up playing Ghost Rider as 'fat Elvis in Vegas' circa 1976 (obv not as scary as the thought of norbit 2 in monsterous terms). QG8WUpHdpVA not in the same league as Spidey, Batman etc at the same level as something like Fantastic Four or Van Helsing (with thinking of the merits of Jessica and Kate obv  ). would have been better if they could find a way to combine them all so you could only spend 2 hours rather than 6  so you could end up with a plot something like this: hyphy ghost ride dancer Robert Johnson sells his soul to the devil and in return he has to do battle with a Victor von Doom type character who's monsterous nature come from the fact he has a lead belly. Throw in a Howlin' Wolf-man like you would get from Van Helsing and then boom!!! 4 films roled into 1 and no sign of Kal Penn!!!! http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/fc/Howlinwolf-portrait.jpg which reminds me i'm missing National Lampoon's Van Wilder!!!
March 18, 200718 yr Saw this today and it was alright..., Wasn't the main character in this the lead actor in the film call 'Weatherman'?
March 18, 200718 yr Saw this today and it was alright..., Wasn't the main character in this the lead actor in the film call 'Weatherman'? Yes he was. This was awful, if it was a 15 it might've been worth seeing - it would've had a lot more to it to if it had a higher certification (and that might've made it watchable), but as it was it was just badly-acted tosh with a c**p story. Nice graphics though ^_^
March 18, 200718 yr Everyone says he's a bad actor, i don't really recall seeing many of his films but i thought Weather man was quite good and well acted.
