:o :o What makes you dilike DM so much? Every single song is a classic imo, hence why it's always voted in the top 10 best albums ever.

 

personally, I think their first two albums are two of the best albums ever made. Be here now was sooooooo dissapointing in comparison at the time, but now I think it's their 4th best album. Third best is Don't believe the truth. Heathen Cheimistry is nothing special imo, the singles are the only standout tracks and SOTSOG is by far their worst. Not even the singles are memerable for me.

it was always going to be hard for Oasis coming off two massively aclaimed albums and all the hype. they would never have managed to better it.

 

And at the time i was slightly dissapointed however now I really rate Be here now i just love the attitude of that album...

 

SOTSOG actually isn't that bad IMO (f***in in the bushes,Go let it out,who feels love?, Gas panic(one of noels best songs IMO),where did it all go wrong,sunday morning call,roll it over ) are all great IMO... Oasis took this album in a different direction which i salute them for as they showed they were not scared of experimenting.

I like the attitude of Be Here Now also - especially when Liam sings "been kicking up a storm since the day I was born" and Don't Go Away is a cracking ballad. I was very impressed by Heathen Chemistry which I think is marginally better than Def Maybe. Def Maybe is very good but What's the Story was the saviour of Rock n' roll in the nineties !!!

DF is anything but middle of the road imo. :blink: It is extremly raw and rock and still sounds so amazing to this day. A timeless classic, every single song is amazing. It doesnt get voted one of the best albums ever for nothing. ;)

 

A middle of the road album for me is something very similar sounding, easy to listen to type of album, full of mainly ballads, like James Blunt or TT's albums. Certainly not an album like DM :lol: Just my opinion though. ;)

I perfer MG, but it was far more mainstream and pop. DM is considered far more of a classic. ^_^
