Posted February 23, 200718 yr Hey how come teen idols of the late 90's last alot longer than the ones from the late 80's?? could it be because they're alot more "talented" and now when its time to reinvent yourself??? in the late 80's we had: Menudo Ricks astley New kids on the block Tiffany Debbie ginson in the late 90's we had: backstreet boys christina aguilera britney spears jessica simpson mandy moore
February 25, 200718 yr Author well jessia did come out in 1999 with i wanna love you forever so she's a teenpop isdol of the late 90's too and im pretty the same can be said about mandy moore because if you read old articles about her its says that she started her career in the late 90's teen pop craze along with britney, xtina & jessica.
February 26, 200718 yr I prefer the 90's because i grew up with them, they lasted longer because the public is more obsessed with celebs and mandy was never big... jess has done well in america and did release i wanna love you there in 1999 i think but 2000 here.. brit/xtina/backstreet boys did well.
February 26, 200718 yr Jessica only came along in 2000, and Mandy Moore wasnt really a teen idol http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e8/Because_I_Said_So.jpg after watching this think she is actually been aimed at middle aged woman who watch five life???

February 26, 200718 yr I prefer the nineties of course, because I grew up then and have such fond memories of those years. I have absloutely no memories of..er... before I was born!
February 28, 200718 yr Ah, memories..I would say the 90's teen idols were better, but I do like some from the 80's. :)

March 1, 200718 yr Britney & Christina... I think it's obvious what decade wins :P I am a 90's kid tho, so I am probably biased.
March 2, 200718 yr Author Simpson made #3 in the US with I Wanna Love You Forever in 2000 Well it was released in 1999 though :P ans so was her debut album.
March 2, 200718 yr It could be because the late 80s was more of a transitional period. A lot of artists and groups from the early 80s are still fondly remembered. Don't forget that without a slightly dodgy transition period from the late 80s to the 90s we wouldn't have some of the acts we have today. Surely it's a spectrum . . .
