He's not ugly - he is gorgeous. He won Strictly and is a fantastic dancer. He was also the Professional Cricketer of the Year 2006 and had the highest number of runs (301) which is the 6th highest ever!

As a Cricket fan I know that it was 3010 runs in the English County Championship which was the 6th highest ever.

As an English Cricket supporter, I also remember him being famous for not being able to handle the pressure when playing for England. The famous Geoffrey Boycott quote "I'm afraid Mark is one of those players who got himself out in the dressing room much too often". He only had a Test average of 27 for England which was pretty disappointing considering his potential and background for scoring runs for fun in County Cricket".

All that made his performance on SCD all the more remarkable. Although I felt Emma Bunton should have made the final instead of Matt Dawson.

....Anyway back on topic.

I'll close the poll early Saturday afternoon & reveal the results later that afternoon, so if you have not yet voted you don't have long left.

Sorry Dot, he doesn't look as bad in that pic and I recognise him now, by the way cheers for doing the records of the year thisispop.

I knew I'd got the stats wrong but didn't have time to look it up. Here is the entry from Wikipedia:

In the 2006 season, Ramprakash, relieved of the captaincy, enjoyed outstanding form, making a career-best 292 against Gloucestershire in May, then improving that with 301 not out against Northamptonshire in early August. Later that month against Worcestershire he made 196 in the first innings, in the process passing 2,000 runs in first-class cricket for the summer in only his 20th innings (a record). Ramprakash, the leading run scorer in 2006, was the first man to score 2,000 runs in a season since the Australian Mike Hussey in 2001, and the first Englishman to do it since Ramprakash himself back in 1995. He ended with 2,278 runs at an average of 103.54, becoming only the sixth man to average over one hundred in an English season, given a criterion of eight completed first-class innings

I don't agree that Emma should have been in the final - it should have been Louisa! But that is water under the bridge now.

Looks like Will's LRN is doing fine in this contest! :yahoo:
