PMing the covers is a very bad idea because this thread will become boring very soon IMO... :o

 

And what's the main reason, when you do that, are you ashamed by your work or probably think you name or own person have a positive or negative influence on the final votes??? :(

I don't mind coming in the bottom two every week...I'm sure its not any personal grudges so I'm happy to publicly which covers are mine...

 

I always think my covers are alright at the start of the week and then by the time everyone has submitted theirs they always look c**p...

I think PMing the covers is a very good idea for it'll improve the objectivity of this competition.

Of course we're not ashamed of our work, why should we? one week is better then another week.

Why would the thread become boring? The covers are still here to be discussed, only they are anonimous, that doesn't mean you can't say your opinion on them.

And it's not like it's a 'rule' to PM. Saying you're not sure you will join anymore just because some members prefer PM, is just plain silly.

I think PMing them is a great idea :D I'm sure there are people here that might vote a certain cover lower just because the artist is higher on the overall scoreboard? ;) Jealousy is an awful thing, but hey, we all get it at some point or another ^_^

 

I'm not really bothered how members want to submit their work, if members want to submit them directly in here they can do, I didn't even state in the second post of this thread if members want to PM their covers, in the end, I will know myself who submitted what, but all means do post them in here yourself, which I must admit is a better idea, so people know who posted what.

 

If it comes to the crunch I can put the names of the designers to the ones I posted so far, if it makes everyone happy.

 

And just to make it clear all the calculations are done on a spreadsheet, with all the codes, so everything is the git there is no point wrangly whatsoever., e-motion created a spreadsheet when the cover design comp first started off on CC

It's only the anonymous PMs agreement that I don't like. Thinking you will have more points because you hide your identity is an hypocrisis' process and "bad gamer" behaviour. It's my opinion. I personally don't care if someone votes for my cover or not, it's just the excitement to do some creative thing and say this is my work, not anything else. Of course I'm very happy if I win for my work at the arrival but survive if not.

 

When I vote, it's always for my favorite covers, not my favorite members. Suspected favoritism is pure paranoia or hidden egocentrism IMO!

@ djcharly: SOME :rolleyes: of us think that sending covers by PM is a better idea than posting them yourself. Quite similar to the Arts & Graphics Forum competitions, it prevents people from voting biased about their favorite member or friend, or whatever, as well as NOT voting for your least favorite member. Although you might not do that, some others might, and sending by PM is, I believe, a better way. As Mikey said, it's not a rule, but you CAN do that, but you don't have to. So...
