JJN HAS been guilty of stereotyping and playing on the lowest common denominator, he has been told time and time again that gays are not by and large camp Julian Clary types and has been given many examples to prove that by me and Russ yet he harps on and on about all gay people being camp and listening to Kylie and several other references he has made in the thread so by still stereotyping when he has been proved wrong is homophobic, you don't have to say "f*****" and so on to be homophobic, stereotyping and pigeonholing and labelling is homophobic too

 

If there was a debate about Korea and I kept talking about Koreans selling dodgy dvd's and eating labradors that would be racial stereotyping !

 

Oh well I haven´t even mentione Kyle, why did you come up with her? Do you listen to her? I enjoy some of her songs but I don´t buy her records...

 

I think you have problems with reading maybe, I was acused of making generalization and sayng all gay people are feminine, when in fact what I said was:

 

I´ve talked to people who have felt "feminine" since their early childhood.

As you can see I´m not talking about a huge amount of people but just the examples in my social circle... And never sugested the contrary.

 

Plus, if there was any generalization abou gay people in my posts, it was much softer then other generalizations done by some of the members who acuse me.

 

Plus, this overreaction is homophobic, because I don´t think someone would be offended if was called feminine (which wasn´t the case), unless this person has a huge dislike for efeminated people.

Might be a good idea to close it tbh, it's getting a little heated..

 

But, I think that JJN has been exhibiting fairly clear signs of, if not hatred certainly distaste, for homosexuals as people, not merely for the act itself, and there has been a fair bit of stereotyping going on too.... And not just on this thread...

 

JJN's behaviour seems to be the accepted norm round here at the moment..... :unsure:
