No more Jamiroquai as singer tires of the music biz…

Jay Kay has announced that he’s planning to quit the music business and settle down.

The singer, who recently parted company with Sony BMG, told the Daily Mirror at a special gig 35,000ft up in a Boeing 757 he’s sick of the business and just wants a family.

“I don’t know what to do next,†he admitted, but added that all that mattered now was “having kids and finding a good woman.â€

Jay, who’s sold more than 27 million albums, went on to add: "I haven't been happy there for a while. I've had some ups and downs but in the end the downs were just too many. When we talked about me leaving, I jumped at the chance."

But there is some hope for Jamiroquai fans, as the singer hasn’t ruled out a return to music in the long term. "I might be back if I get my inspiration again, but who knows,†he said

I think the only reason he released the Greatest Hits was because he wanted to use up the last album on his Sony contract but I didn't think he wanted to give up music, just the record company he was with
liked a couple of his songs but thats it so im not really bothered....

Kay has denied claims that he has quit the music business.

The Jamiroquai star was widely reported to have decided to retire yesterday, after his record deal with SonyBMG expired.

However, these suggestions were today completely denied by both his camp and the star himself, in a statement.

Kay, who released a greatest-hits compilation album last year entitled High Times, insisted "there's no way I'm quitting the music business."

He explains: "As usual they got it wrong for a cheap headline! All I said was that we're taking a bit of time out to get the studio refurbished and we'll be back making music in a few months time. Now I am out of my long contract with SonyBMG we have so many options open to us we're just going to take our time and get it right - it's just getting interesting!"
