I have not been to any clubs with her no, never, that'd be unsafe, with all the drink flowing! Plus we don't always help that situation by getting alcoholic gifts. :P I think Daz once met up with her by chance at a club gig and other things but he'll probably tell you about that...

Ooh I see. I knew there was a club involved somewhere. :P

I bet she wouldn't steal your Haribo though Andrew... :P Just take off with the Baileys instead!

Anyways back to Lucie, I just played Last Year. It's the most relaxing song. If you all buy the album on the 12th you too can enjoy such a lovely track. *plug plug*

Sinking In is a fantastic song...and the video is sooooo good!!!

Seriously everyone should buy her new album, its incredible!! Haven't stopped playing it since I got it :D

The video isn't on the music channels, has it had any airplay?
No, it hasn't even been added to the music channels yet!! :o :( And I haven't heard it on the radio once :(

Then it's not going to sell very well is it? I bet she won't get any album ads on tv either, it's a big difference from her last album, I wonder why?

It's Mercury!

If a debut album's sold well with some success abroad they seem to expect the impetus from that to last for the next album. Trouble is singer/songwriters take a lot of time to create their second album and if like Lucie, they've also been abroad promoting, the gap can be longer still. The lead single needs blanket radio/TV and music channel promotion. Mercury never seem to do that for second albums.

Its such a shame...I always thought they'd done such a great job promoting the 1st album, I just wish they'd do the same for this one. I hope there is at least an album advert on TV!!
It wasn't just Mercury who were behind Lucie back then, Universal including Lucien himself had great faith in her and were throwing all they had at establishing Lucie. He was singing her praises in a big radio music debate months before the first play of the first single.
Maybe they were disappointed with the 1st album sales then, I always thought Kelly Clarkson and KT Tunstall stole a lot of her thunder, there seemed to be a glut of female singers around then and who were far more heavily promoted.
I don't think it was disappointment with sales. The whole company was in flux when Lucie's later singles were released and she was touring in Europe. A lot of decisions were delayed or put on the back burner. There were changes throughout the company, it was totally streamlined and overhauled, almost the whole of the top echelon left beginning with Steve Lillywhite, right down to a physical move of premises. A new A & R team came in who, to me, seemed to want to find the next big 'indie' group rather than promote those who'd been signed by Lillywhite and Castell.
I really hope this does well....I agree that it surely can't be out on monday tho

It's an amazing song from such a talented artist. Even though the UK is hard for Lucie right now, she's doing so fabulous here in Holland. I am really proud of her and everything she has achieved. Like Nat explained, I have been one of those crazy people who started to listen to Lucie when What You're Made Of came out and I am very lucky that I have got to know Lucie as a person. I've seen her live about.. 15 times or so (maybe even more) and she's really one of the best singers out there. Unfortunatly she isn't getting the attention she deserves.

But like Andrew said, we have to have a little faith. I think they are going for the album promo, which is also great in my opinion as Lucie is an album artist - same with 'Breathe In'. The last couple of singles didn't do well, but the album stayed in the charts.

Here in Holland, 'The Same Side' got released last October and it reached the gold status on the first day it came out. I nearly cried, I really did because I have been there in Holland on the way to Lucie's success and it made me feel so very proud to see that moment on national TV.

But yeah.. The video is incredible, Richard also looks very hot and I think it matches the song SO well. This is absolutely my favourite Lucie video.

I don't think I can recall Lucie getting any press coverage here in the Uk.

You know you're going to pick up a tabloid and every day there'll be snippets about Lilly Allen or Amy Winehouse, but artists like Lucie don't seem to excite any of these music journalist enough to even give her a small paragraph when promoting, and it's hard to know why.

As much as we scorn and dismiss the likes of Joe Mott and Vic Newton, there are times when a little bit of positive interest from their direction can do a lot to help sales I'm sure.

Sadly, it's easy to know why. The cult of celebrity for celebrity's sake. Lucie's of no interest because she's dedicated to her music and lives a decent balanced life. The journos prefer endless trivia about people with no discernible talent at all who'd do anything to get their photo in the mags and face on TV.

I'm confused about the Mercury saving promo for the album thing. The Same Side is on the release schedule for this week. Has it been postponed? I haven't been to the shops, not even a supermarket this week yet.

^Yeah, sadly I have to agree with you. That's way more interesting for the press, which is pretty sad as real talents like Lucie who dedicate themselves 100% to the music and don't show 75% of their bodies to sell music, don't get the attention they deserve.
^ Yes, that's the way it goes unfortunately :( It'll always be that way
