Just had to get that one in there yeah...? In denial are we mate....? :P

Sorry, I just look at that gormless git with his 'slappy' bass style and I just think "Flea is just SO much better at it than you mate".... Listen to some older Red Hot Chili Peppers to see how this whole "Funky/Rocky/Poppy" hybrid, experimental thing should be done.... Also, bands like Firehose, Fishbone...... Streets ahead of the likes of Level 42....

Whenever I hear the words "Jazz" and "Funk" said in the same sentence, I truly shudder.....

i think there might be one instance where the words jazz and funk might appear in a sentance and it might be alright

Level 42 did make some sort of claim to be a "Funk" band though, didn't they....?

cant remember if Level 42 were mentioned on Soul Britannnia, however its repeated on BBC 4 tonight at 9pm. Its another great series on the history of music doing Britfunk and Britsoul (even if 99% of the music is a bit jazzfunk $h!te). think tonight goes thru all the 80s and stuff like Brand New Heavies. D&B I think is next weeks edition.
