The Killers play special cover version at Shockwaves NME Awards

The band honour a classic British band

The Killers marked their Shockwaves NME Awards live performance by playing a special cover version.

The band wowed Hammersmith Palais in London tonight (March 1) with a cover of Joy Division's 'Shadowplay'.

The Vegas band have recorded it for the forthcoming movie 'Control', based around the life of Joy Division singer Ian Curtis.

The Killers also performed their own 'Uncle Jonny' from current album 'Sam's Town'.

---------------------------------------------

The Killers have won Best Video for Bones :cheer:

but

have lost out on best international band to My Chemical Romance <_< :(

So glad they won "Best Video".... Bones is indeed a great video, I love it! And I'm starting to think Uncle Jonny will indeed be the fourth single-off "Sam's Town".

the killers won best video for bones :D you didn't miss much anyway, the show was reaaaaally boring, imo, and the "jokes" were all pretty lame, i switched off after the killers performance, and even then they only showed Shadowplay not Uncle Johnny. it was a good performance, although the crowd seemed really unresponsive generally  ah well. i agree, the jarvis cocker and beth ditto performance was v good.

edit:

Here's the video for their live rendition to "Shadowplay", originally by Joy Division.

I have to say, they've made an amazing homage to this song! I hope they record it in the studio, cause it's great!

See I told you it would be the 4th single. :P

Yeah I think them playing it, pretty much confirms that it's gonna the 4th single now. I dunno whether it's a good choice or not, but I guess time will tell!!! :D

Was a shame they lost out of Best International Band to MCR, as The Killers are far far better than MCR IMO. :P
