For a few weeks, I couldn't get croquette potatoes anywhere. Then a few days ago, they started coming in. They're the only potatoes that my father-in-law will eat.

I'll phone them one last time tomorrow morning and if they've got them, I'll try to nip down before church .

I can't believe my church isn't having a traditional Watchnight service this year. They're having a 7 pm family service. I'm flabbergasted. I'm going to be disloyal and go to another church for the midnight service. It's always been a very special part of my year.

We have carols followed by midnight eucharist....but I'll miss it again this year with working.

You're not being disloyal if they are not having the service.

Before our new vicar, he's been with us 6 years, we always had a dawn service on Easter Sunday....it was wonderful and then we went to the vicarage for breakfast. I really miss that.

Oh and I should be working.......

'What should I be doing?' - NOTHING!!, isn't it lovely!!! I'm going to my stepson's and fiancee's tonight for a vege lasagne, so I have a day without even having to cook!!!

I'm off to see 'Eragon'. It's my son's birthday and an excuse to go tho the pics while dinner is cooking itself. I do love roasts - they are just so easy to do.

So where were you when I phone at lunch time?

Enjoy the film and wish Charles a happy birthday.

I'll ring tomorrow.

Julia...how great not having to do anything :yahoo: enjoy your meal :)

I must go look at my potatoes........seems to be a common statement that

I should be going to bed to get rid of the remnants of the cold/flu that's knocked the stuffing out of me since Boxing Day. At least I should be completely better to see in the New Year.

2006 has not been a bad year for me personally, although there were a couple of sad times. I've just started to consider what resolution(s) I might make for 2007. Does anyone else make New Year resolutions?

nt to see Miss Potter last night starring Rene zwelleger. The scenery of the lake district was beautifully photographed and it was funny spotting the tv stars in the supporting roles. It was a feel good film but rene zwelleger appeared to be the only american in it all the supporting cast were british. Wold have thought a british actress could have done the main part.

It's money again. A film like that only gets the necessary financial backing if there's a bankable American in the lead and Renee Zellweger is one of the most bankable. Did she do a convincing Cumbrian accent?

She's the reason why I've been swithering about whether to see the film. Generally I cringe when I hear most Americans attempting accents I'm familiar with.

I've always liked all the Beatrix Potter stories and I thought the film that featured the dancing creatures (The World of Beatrix Potter?) was charming but I admit I know very little about the authoress.

I suppose we should be grateful the male lead was British.

She didnt appear to have an american accent but I wouldnt know a cumbrian accent if I heard it. The actor who played the man she eventually married was lloyd owen from monarch of the glen, her father was also a scottish actor whose voice I recognised but couldnt place him, her mother played the wife of robbie coltrane in Cracker so scotland was well represented.

I think I might go and see the film next week.

When did bj come back? Every time I tried yesterday (Friday), I couldn't get on.

Has it being breaking down a lot since New Year or have I just been unlucky?

I'm glad the site is back. I kept looking at the back up site yesterday for info. They said it was a hard disc failure on there, so I hope they haven't lost much data. I remember it taking 2 days for a replacement hard disc on one of ours at work. Customers weren't happy at all.
