Have to get off here sharpish or I'll be arriving in France with just my passport, euros and debit card.

As it is I'm confused about what to take. "Our " forecasts indicate good weather throughout but the French ones are showing showers/rain most days. Either way the temperatures are much higher than here in Scotland.

Speak to you again on Tuesday.

Have a great time BT

Having a bath. I've been meaning too all morning. I'm definately going to once I've fed my father-in-law.

I was intending to watch Joseph, but it is so repetitive,

and I hate all the false enthusiasm from the judges.

It is so unfair to give these lads a false impression

of how good they are. Genuine talent is rare.

And as for Eurovision.........

Think I'll read instead.

I can't believe how much the grass has grown in the short time I was away. I'll have to get the mower out tomorrow. I haven't the energy today.

I know a break is supposed to set you up and it does, but the day after I return, I always feel terribly flat. I'll be buzzing with get up and go again tomorrow. Let's hope the weather stays dry until then.

Our grass seems very loath to grow, even though it has had Evergreen Complete on. Mind you, it only

went on three days ago but I always expect miracles!

I've never had any success whenever I've tried to re-seed the areas the dog digs up all the time and the parts closest to my neighbours' trees and the hedge of ? (that conifer type thing that grows enormously tall), which just seem to exhaust the ground there and the grass just won't grow. I'm now toying with buying turf to restore the "dog hollows".

The rest I'll need to turn into an area of gravel, path etc or create a couple of raised beds which I can fill with top soil. I'll probably do the former this year and aim to get the money together to have the latter done properly next year.

Well it's too wet here to do anything in the garden so I've been shredding letters and old documents today, having been reminded on TV yesterday about how easy it is to have own's identity stolen. It's just so boring though.
Too true. I haven't any acquaintances who've actually had their identities stolen but a couple of friends had money taken from their bank accounts and they had no idea how it could be done and the bank couldn't shed any light on it either.
I should be washing the windows. It keeps raining though. Not that I'm really complaining - we certainly needed it.
That is quite worrying.

It is, because banks and financial institutions have more security than ever but the fraudsters can always find a way around all the systems.

Sometimes things can happen through old fashioned human error. A friend of mine was expecting a new cheque book and the temporary postman delivered it by mistake to a neighbour, who did what most of us do - she threw it in a drawer until she needed it. My friend got a duplicate chequebook.

Almost six months later my friend had a letter from her bank saying that they couldn't honour her last cheque and mentioned a large sum which my friend would never have written a cheque for. It turned out the neighbour, who was very poorly sighted and didn't realise it was not her chequebook, had innocently used 3 of the cheques and .........the bank had already paid out over 500 pounds from my friend's account.

It could have gone on and on if the last cheque hadn't been so large, until my friend was virtually out of funds. The bank paid back the charges they'd levelled on my friend's account and her neighbour refunded all the money.

That couldn't have happened in the "bad old days" when you got all your cheques back.

it can make you quite paranoid!! my parents had their credit card details stolen at an opticians, they hardly ever use the card so knew when it happened! I dont trust these pins either, I prefered the signatures, so they should have kep both to double the security! its like everyone is a con man these days.

My daughter Paula has seen a warning that someone is sending out emails pretending to be UCAS or the University

they are going to asking for their personal details They have been warned not to give any information out in an email.

How low do some people stoop :o

my husband shreds everything, I must admit I am too lazy, so just tear into tiny pieces the bits of any documents with any details or adress on, he shreds our shopping receiept and everything! mind you it goes in our compost bins anyway.

I hope it stays dry for me to cut the lawn! it is all like a meadow now,

Thank goodness for this thread. I sat down and thought'what should I be doing' then got up really quickly and went and did it. My father-in-laws second cup of tea is due a t10am - and I was 3 mins late.
