Robbie Williams To Be Sued By Rehab Clinic?

Robbie Williams is being threatened with legal action by the rehab centre he likened to a “concentration campâ€.

The popstar left America’s Cottonwood de Tucson clinic early last week and heavily criticised the facilty for it’s strict regime, claiming it was "worse than a concentration camp".

However, now a source at the clinic tells the Daily Star Sunday, “We're one of the most respected rehabs in the world and what this man has said is outrageous.

“Board members have taken legal advice and have been told they have a defamation case against him. Everyone on staff is backing their action 100-per-cent.

Oh for goodness sake, Is anybody not sueing him at the moment? :(

Troubled pop star ROBBIE WILLIAMS has turned to British comedian STEPHEN FRY for guidance in tackling his addiction to caffeine and prescription medicine.

Williams, who has been known to struggle with depression, has sought the advice of Fry - a manic depressive - following his stay at an Arizona rehab clinic.

The two became friends when Williams appeared in a Fry-made documentary about manic depression.

Fry, 49, says, "I talk a lot with Robbie.

"It is hard for him - but I will continue to be there for him."

No ordinary Joe|

British pop star Robbie Williams checked out of rehab for prescription drugs last week. But another stimulant that held the singer in its devilish grip may have Starbucks execs shaking in their boots -- Williams also had an incredible jones for caffeine.

"Daily, he gets through an incredible 36 super-strength double espresso coffees, 60 Silk Cut cigarettes and around 20 cans of energy drink Red Bull," reported a British newspaper.

Caffeine addiction is on the rise, according to experts at rehab centers we contacted.

"We often see caffeine dependency in combination with other drugs," Dan Stone of the Cottonwood de Tucson clinic in Arizona, where Williams is rumored to have completed treatment, told us. The rehab solution? "Caffeine is... available in the morning, but then it's shut off," Stone said. Victims of "caffeinism" are encouraged to use behavioral techniques such as yoga, meditation and deep breathing, and to slowly switch to decaf coffee and tea.

A rep for Starbucks Coffee Co. tells us that the average double espresso contains about 130 milligrams of caffeine. A single Red Bull contains only 80 milligrams -- but can still pack an addictive charge.

"We had someone here, a gentleman who was using Red Bull like crazy," Stone told us. "We had to detox him from that. I can't speak medically, but over a long period of time on any stimulant I wonder what kind of effect it would have on the body's natural drugs used to regulate mood."

Williams' rep didn't return calls for comment

ROBBIE TURNS TO HIS PAL FRY

By Lara Gould Tv Reporter

The Sunday Mirror

ROBBIE Williams is being helped through his drug problems by comedy star Stephen Fry.

They became pals after Robbie appeared on Fry's TV documentary about manic depression last year. Robbie spent five weeks in rehab then last month clocked into an Arizona clinic for two weeks.

Fry, 49, who had a breakdown in 1995, is helping as Robbie continues his recovery at home in Los Angeles. Fry said: "I talk a lot with Robbie. It is hard for him - but I will continue to be there for him."

Robbie, worth £100m, was treated for cocaine and booze addiction in 1996. But since then he has constantly fought with depression.

I hear whispers that Robbie Williams has fallen for stunning Lost actress Bai Ling.

The two met after Rob checked out of rehab and I gather they've been spotted clubbing in Hollywood.

I'm told: "Bal is as wild as Robbie. He looked completely smitten as they snuggled up"

And my spy revealed: "They were all over each other. They definately looked more than friends"

Bia (left) makes her Lost debut this year. Is this a case of She's The One?

Croke Park turnover surpasses €30m

18 March 2007 By Ian Kehoe

The Post ie. edited

The holding company behind Croke Park will reveal that turnover at the stadium topped €30 million last year when it announces its annual results this week.

Croke Park (Pairc an Chrocaigh Teo), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the GAA, will announce that it recorded an operating surplus of about €18 million.

The figures represent a small improvement on 2005.

More than 70 per cent of the stadium’s turnover was generated from non-sporting events, such as corporate events, conferencing and hospitality. The stadium hosted three concerts last year, including a sell-out gig by British pop star Robbie Williams.

KING BOOTLEG

EXCLUSIVE Crook who ripped off Robbie Williams, Oasis and the Rolling Stones has dirty money fortune seized

By Norman Silvester

A Scots music man who faces losing the £1million fortune he made from bootleg CDs of concerts by Robbie Williams, Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones.

Peter Cruickshank, 46, has run stalls at record fairs across Britain and Ireland for 10 years.

He protests his trade is only a hobby and appears to live modestly in his mother's house. But he owns an MG sports car and other vehicles and is building a villa in Marbella.

He was caught in December 2003 with £30,000 of bootleg CDs in a van at Stranraer's ferry terminal.

His haul included live recordings of Led Zeppelin, Abba, Aerosmith, Beach Boys, David Gray, Elvis, Eagles, Iron Maiden, Manic Street Preachers, Pink Floyd, Robbie Williams, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Bon Jovi, Eminem, Oasis, Paul Weller and Queen.

Now Cruickshank has had the proceeds from his trade - worth £564,000 - frozen by the Crown Office.

He invested the dirty money in shares and investments as well as the villa in Spain.

Customs and Revenue are also expected to try to recover unpaid tax - meaning he could lose £1million.

The music industry loses £165million a year from piracy and bootlegging.

A British Phonographic Institute spokesman said: "These lost sales amount to the combined legal sales of the top 13 best-selling albums in the UK last year."

Bootlegging concerts rakes in massive profits with rare recordings that can fetch up to £300 each.

A soundman working for the band tapes the gig or a criminal in the audience records it off a speaker.

Bootleg CDs of Oasis' performance at the Brits in January appeared on eBay within an hour.

Last night Cruickshank, who lives in his mum's house in Bearsden, Glasgow, claimed he had quit.

He said: "They have frozen everything, including the van and car.

"Most of my money is from legitimate sources such as selling back catalogues and deletions.

"Only about 20 per cent of it was from bootlegging. But I did not keep accounts for six years or pay tax and the authorities would rather chaseme than real criminals.

"I am only breaking copyright regulations but record companies are spending millions of pounds to try to catch people like me."

The former bus company worker claims he made most of his money when he invested his redundancy payout in 1990 by buying the entire stock of a London record company.

He said: "I bought bootleg CDs in bulk from Italy. I don't make them myself. We've tried to reach a settlement on what I owe but the Crown want everything." The Crown Office confirmed they are seeking a confiscation order.

In 1998 police raided Cruickshank's home and took 50,000 pirate CDs and cassettes, worth £500,000. But he was not prosecuted.

In 2000 Cruickshank was caught selling 2000 CDs on a stall at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre and fined £600.

Last week he was given a year's deferred sentence for selling illegal recordings after pleading guilty at Stranraer Sheriff Court.

It follows years of investigation by police, trading standards officers and the British Phonographic Institute. A BPI investigator said: "These guys are making more money than major drug dealers."

Bloody Scots

:smoke: We are a very enterprising people. ...

What bull$h!t. He NEVER said that, that was just what one of the scum British press PRESUMED after Sally said there was dissagreements between staff. Good grief, how much more lies are there going to be.

Now more thick members of the public will think he could'nt handle not being pampered when that is clearly not the case. If it was he would've gone into a celeb rehab place in L.A, not one which was described as one of the toughest in the country for 3 weeks. :arrr:

There is an article in the Sunday Mail today about Mark Ronson's new album. I was looking for it in the on-line edition but I can't find it. And I really can't be bothered typing it up.

Exactly. If he couldn't handle it he'd be gone in 3 days and not stay for 3 weeks. I'd say he could sue whoever it was that printed that $h!t, they shouldn't be allowed to print c**p like that and quote it as if Rob said that

And Bai Ling is not 45, she's 36. Another harmless but c**p story  love the way they sound certain and uncertain all in one sentence .....

The two met after Rob checked out of rehab and I gather they've been spotted clubbing in Hollywood.

So were they spotted or not ?! The next line has them all over each other in a club

Must be a slow news day.

But I guess I better......

From the Scottish Sunday Mail. (If anyone is copying and pasting this can you credit Buzzjack please?)

Superstar producer Mark Ronson is bringing a new supergroup- including Robbie Williams, Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen- to Scotland. The 31 year old will release an album of funked up covers on April 16- and roped in the stars to provide vocals while he was producing their albums.

Now he is lining up a live show and Robbie and Lily will perform with him when they can. Mark said ' I did a few shows last year with Lily and Amy and it was great. I want to pull it off so it's good enough that if the stars can't be there it will be just as exciting. What if Robbie is stuck in traffic? I want the show iron-tight without the stars so if they come then it's a big bonus.

'Rob will do some shows and it will be fun to have him there. He is such an entertainer'.

'We'll definitely bring the show to Scotland- my mum's parents are from Edinburgh so I wouldn't miss that.'

The album-Version- includes surprising treats like Robbie doing the Charlatans The Only One I Know, Lily on Kaiser Chief's Oh My God and Mark's protege Daniel Merriweather on single Stop Me if You Think You've Heard This One Before, a cover of The Smith's Song.

The stars couldn't wait to work with Mark and the original artists have lapped up the reworking of their classics. He said ' Robbie and Lily jumped at it because there is a tradition of doing covers in England. Robbie spent ages deciding what song to do because he has such a massive knowledge of obscure music. He would text me at 3 in the morning, saying he wanted to do some weird reggae song.

The original artists have been cool. Paul weller and Ricky from the Kaisers love my versions and Morrissey and Radiohead have been raving about theirs. That's great because if any of the artists didn't like my take on their song I wouldn't have done it.'

Mark also revealed he and Robbie will start work on a new album now he is out of rehab. He said ' I am going to LA for a couple of weeks now he is out of the Big House as he calls it. He really got a bum deal on Rudebox as it is a great album. A lot of people were just waiting to knock him whatever he did.

I just love the comment about Rob's massive knowledge of obscure music

Rob's night in shining armour

March 19, 2007

LAUGHING ROBBIE WILLIAMS looks like one of those Shiny Happy People that REM sing about.

Maybe he’d just caught sight of himself in a mirror.

This 80s-style silky black suit looks like something his caberet singer dad PETE CONWAY might have worn.

Robbie – who’s been smiling a lot since he left an Arizona rehab clinic earlier this month – was off on another night out, this time to Club Element in LA, then on to Hyde.
