Singles arn't nothing what they use to be, it's all about albums. Madonna Mariah, Britney, Leona and Kylie have BIG albums releaed this year. For 2008 we have, Alicia Keys (who isn't as big as what she use to be), Shania Twain (her last material flopped), Kelly Clarkson has already released, P!nk (her album will be massive), Nicole (her new material is nothing like the Pussycat Dolls, so people reckon she'll flop) and I dont know about Celine Dion.

Her first and deffinatly her second album has been massive, number #3 flopped a bit due to lack of promotion cause she was touring at the time but her 4th one has sold over a million already, and the 5th will be just as big. :P

Songwriting, Producers, Muscians, Backup Singers, BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS and Anastacia. Some producers can create tunes and lyrics/chords from the tops of their heads, like Pretty Little Dum Dum. You can see in the making of, Anastacia has written the lyrics and one of the producers is just playing chords on the guitar and Ana's just singing along.

 

Or there's the "I Ask Of You" way. The producer plays notes on the piano and Ana just belts out lyrics from the top of her head.

 

So it depends really on what makes an album. And then there's all the promo, photoshoots, etc.

yeah the cd will be recored by the end of this year,then comes the fun part....promotion & appearances etc..

An album is mostly ready half a year before its released.. cuz after the songs are recorded, theres the photoshoots, appearances etc.
