April 13, 200619 yr Powter Stays Hot, Chili Peppers Sizzle On Charts April 13, 2006, 10:45 AM ET from Billboard.com Daniel Powter's "Bad Day" notches a third week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The cut also remains atop the Pop 100 and Hot Digital Songs charts for a third week. On the Hot 100, Sean Paul's "Temperature" sticks to No. 2 and T.I.'s "What You Know" ascends 4-3, swapping positions with James Blunt's "You're Beautiful." The Blunt track also rises 2-1 on the Adult Contemporary chart, while T.I.'s cut climbs one rung to seize the top spot on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and end the 15-week run of Mary J. Blige's "Be Without You," which falls to No. 2. On the Hot 100, "Be Without You" and Natasha Bedingfield's "Unwritten" stay put at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. Elsewhere on the chart, Dem Franchize Boyz' "Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It" featuring Lil Peanut & Charlay jumps 8-7 and Rascal Flatts' "What Hurts The Most" rockets 52-8, just as its parent album, "Me And My Gang" bows atop The Billboard 200 with the best sales week of 2006. The cut also leads the Hot Country Songs chart for a fourth week. Bubba Sparxxx' "Ms. New Booty" featuring Ying Yang Twins and Mr. ColliPark holds at No. 9 on the Hot 100, while Ne-Yo's "So Sick" slides 7-10 to round out the top tier. "Ms. New Booty" also maintains the top spot on the Hot Ringtones chart for a second week. Pink's "Stupid Girl's is the Hot 100's greatest sales gainer, soaring 30-15, and Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie" featuring Wyclef Jean is the chart's greatest airplay gainer, up 41-33. Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Dani California" is the top debut at No. 24 and also bows at No. 1 on the Modern Rock chart, knocking Pearl Jam's "Worldwide Suicide" to No. 2 after three weeks at the top. The Chili Peppers' No. 1 Modern Rock debut is only the second in the chart's history, following R.E.M.'s "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?" in September 1994. It's also the Chili Peppers' ninth No. 1, a new record for the format. The quartet had previously been tied with Green Day and U2 for all-time Modern Rock chart toppers. Also new to the Hot 100 are Nine Inch Nails' "Every Day Is Exactly The Same" (No. 56), Chris Brown's "Gimme That" featuring Lil' Wayne (No. 80), Fort Minor's "Where'd You Go" featuring Holly Brook & Jonah Matranga (No. 86), Field Mob "So What" featuring Ciara's (No. 88), Goo Goo Dolls' "Stay With You" (No. 89), Mary J. Blige's "Enough Cryin" featuring Brook-lyn (No. 90), Keith Anderson's "Every Time I Hear Your Name" (No. 99) and Jagged Edge's "Good Luck Charm" (No. 100). Anais' "Lo Que Son Las Cosas" holds at No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart for a second week and Godsmack's "Speak" remains atop the Mainstream Rock tally for a fourth.
