Posted March 6, 200718 yr BLAME it on the pop princess who turned the television ratings table on its head last Sunday. Channel Seven's new dramas lost their shine and Channel Nine led the ratings for the first time since new programming replaced cricket and Sunday night movies three weeks ago. The ABC's Kylie Showgirl Homecoming Tour - screened conveniently the night after Mardi Gras - may have only pulled an average audience of just under half a million, but it was enough to pull down the ratings of Seven's youth-oriented dramas Grey's Anatomy and What About Brian and drive Aunty's audience over to Nine. ABC audiences who had previously tuned in to the World War II drama Foyle's War left the broadcaster in droves and helped put Nine in first place with a 34.8 per cent audience share to Seven's 32.2 per cent. With the poor performing Cool Aid: The National Carbon Test on Channel Ten, a three-hour soap line-up on Seven and Dreamland, a look at the flora and fauna of a Latvian tip, on SBS, Foyle's War fans defected to CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.Although it was down almost 400,000 viewers on its debut three weeks ago, Ugly Betty is still looking beautiful for Seven at 7.30pm and continues to provide strong competition for Nine's 60 Minutes.
