Over the weekend, some news outlets started picking up on rumors of Britney Spears attempting suicide at the Promises rehab facility in Malibu. The rumors are believed to have taken root after an ambulance showed up at the facility last week on Wednesday (above pix). X17 did not report on the paramedics' visit because we didn't want to create questions or concerns where none were warranted. If you read most articles on the supposed attempted suicide, most are written with unnamed sources and with direct quotes attributed to no one. We saw Britney later in the evening on the 28th, the same day we saw the ambulance, attending her first AA meeting outside of rehab. She was looking good and healthy -- far from what you'd expect someone who'd just attempted suicide to look like! She was out again the next evening for a Thursday night AA meeting, where X17 caught up with Brit exclusively. She gave us a sweet wave and a smile -- she looked great! So all-in-all, I'm not so sure I believe this story ...

 

Best of luck to Britney during her battle to conquer her demons - let's hope we never hear a story this scary again!

Its a load of bollocks, i don't think shes selfish enough to leave her kids!

I don't think she's that low yet, but if this gets much worse she soon could be. Here's hoping she does get better, and fast - for her kids if for no one else.

Well, when someone is suffering from clinical depression, they dont really know just what the hell they are doing, they are ill ffs.... I and plent y of other Nirvana fans would never have thought Kurt Cobain would have been 'selfish' enough to leave his daughter and eat a bullet.... Or is Britney somehow a Superhuman person who doesn't have these kinds of deep despairing moments when maybe just to end it all might be the best thing.... Now THAT is bollocks....

I do believe it's possible for Britney to do it, she's human after all, and feelings could lead you to terrible acts. What I do not believe is the source and the fact that they are speculating only because they've seen paramedics at the rehab centre she's at.

And bear in mind that Kurt comitted suicide after he'd done rehab and was supposedly 'well'.... It was a real shock to all his fans, believe me, I was around at the time... And lets not forget the example of Manic Street Preachers founder member Richie Edwards, again, clinical depression, erratic behaviour (like Britney, he also shaved his head in an attempt to alter his appearance, to just 'disappear' in effect) , rehab, and then actual disappearance, as opposed to the metaphorical one when he shaved his head, (because the press never stopped hounding him..) never to be heard from again; he has now been declared legally dead... Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst because it can, sadly, happen.....

My thoughts exactly, I knew you were going to bring George W Bush, for some reason, but the fact that he commanded that war, etc. makes him a criminal, so it's different.
