Posted March 6, 200718 yr Arctic Monkeys are pleased to announce their special guests for their sold out summer shows at Lancashire County Cricket Ground, Manchester on July 28th and 29th 2007. The band will be joined by Supergrass, The Coral and Amy Winehouse for both shows. “When we decided to do our own event, we wanted to play with people whose music we love and just make it a really fun day out for the fans. Supergrass, The Coral and Amy Winehouse are all amazing live Acts and three of our favourite Artists. We’re really looking forward to playing together. It’s going to be two days of great musicâ€. Well I don't think these were the acts that a lot of people were expecting. :o Still, they're all big acts in their own right, so it should be two good days of music. :D ^_^ Any opinions on the supporting artists then? :o Good or bad choices! :o
March 8, 200718 yr Author Amy  Wish I could afford this :( I'm not too sure about her supporting tbh. I mean I think she has a great voice, and she makes good pop songs, but well I dunno whether she's the right person to be supporting them, maybe because their genres of music aren't exactly similar. Still I think she'll be a great supporting act for them, I just don't know how the crowd will react to her.

March 8, 200718 yr Author Do you think people could throw things at her? Who knows. I doubt they would tbh, because I think they'll respect her and everything. ^_^ I just think that she maybe won't get as good as reception as say The Coral.

The Coral is an indie/rock band more similar than any other of the supporting acts, they might get a better reception. I agree.
March 8, 200718 yr Author Well, it's a matter of styles... The Coral is an indie/rock band more similar than any other of the supporting acts, they might get a better reception. I agree. I think both The Coral and Supergrass will get EXCELLENT receptions. :P I think that's moreso down to the fact they they're both northern bands. (well I think at least )
March 10, 200718 yr I think both The Coral and Supergrass will get EXCELLENT receptions. :P I think that's moreso down to the fact they they're both northern bands. (well I think at least ) Yes, of course... I just kept on naming The Coral cause it's my fave band out of those 3 acts
March 10, 200718 yr I think they're fairly good support acts actually, Amy should definitley be the best of the 3 though imo. :D I'm not too sure what sort of reception she'll recieve but she may possibly get a fairly positive one seeing as she's credible and has a great voice. March 10, 200718 yr BIG support acts :o What's happened to The Coral, I think they dissapeared after the second album?
March 10, 200718 yr The only song that really stood out to me by The Coral was 'In The Morning,' but perhaps they're planning on a new album soon seeing as they're one of the acts on the bill, I think that Supergrass could be a very good festival act actually. :D Still wish that Klaxons had've been on the bill though.
March 10, 200718 yr BIG support acts :o What's happened to The Coral, I think they dissapeared after the second album? Wasn't it three albums they had?
March 10, 200718 yr Author I have no idea whether The Coral have had two or three albums. Probably a job for Polyhex. They had a big lead single, when they released their last album and then, they just kinda tailed off. Still their next album is due for release sometime this year, I think at least and i'd put money on it been released around Summer time, which is when these gigs are. :P
April 17, 200718 yr Author The Arctics also expressed their longing to work with Amy Winehouse, and admitted they hope to get together when both artists play at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester this summer. “We really like her and her work and we would love to perform with her. We hear she is going to be playing at the same gig in Manchester as us. It would be great if we could perform live together.†Me thinks there could be some sort of a duet now for You Know I'm Good with Alex signing the parts Ghostface Killah would sing...or something else along those lines.

What bits does Ghostface Killah sing, don't think I've noticed anybody else singing from when it's been on
