Britney Spears has received some unlikely support as she remains in rehab, from reformed wild rocker Nikki Sixx.

Motley Crue's bassist and main songwriter says he hopes she'll "rise out of the ashes".

Former drug addict Nikki has released a book recounting when his own life was out of control - The Heroin Diaries: A Year In The Life Of A Shattered Rock Star, and he believes the fallen pop princess can also get things back on track.

When it comes to Britney's chances of sorting herself out in rehab, he's confident the young pop star will get better.

He said: "I'm sure she will, we all rise out of the ashes. Either that or we die right?"

The musician added: "You got two choices. She'll either get bigger... or she won't, and I would hope that she brings herself out of that, bigger than she ever was."

It's not that unlikely a source, only a person who has been there themselves can possibly understand what she's going through... Nikki Sixx has done it all really and come out the other side. In many ways, he is probobly the most ideal person to be a sponsor/mentor for her....
Good for him, she needs all the support she can get right now and since he is an amazing songwriter, maybe he would write a song for her new album to rock it up a little. :P

yeah it's definitely good that he supports her...

@ GRIMLY FIENDISH you're right - only a person that has been there himself can understand what she feels ...

Overall it was a good advice, and he's been quite positive.
That was a real nice thing for him to say, and I hope he's right!

I liked this part the most: "I'm sure she will, we all rise out of the ashes"... it's a very positive phrase.

It's a very "Rock Star" thing to say...

Seriously though, Nikki would be a really good Mentor for her to keep her on the straight and narrow post-rehab... I reckon that she would need someone like him, to do the compassionate/understanding thing on the one hand, and then the 'kick up the arse/tough love when needed' on the other...
