Take That have arrived in Australia yesterday, as part of a 5 day promotional visit for Beautiful World! The chaps will be doing album signing in Brisbane at the Music Shop tomorrow: Sunday, 11th March and will also attend the B105 party at Movie World, Gold Coast this evening - Saturday, 10th March 2007. We understand that the visit will also take in radio interviews in Melbourne on Nova 100 and Fox FM. TAKE THAT star JASON ORANGE still manages to look good after a long flight to Australia – unlike bandmate GARY BARLOW. The boys hid behind dark shades as they landed in Sydney on a promo tour, to be greeted by autograph hunters. Jason was Shiny and fresh as a daisy but Gary and HOWARD DONALD looked like they needed a kip. MARK OWEN was chipper as always.
March 16, 200718 yr Well ~cat~ Who did a thread here got his single 'Patience' signed by the boys so Damn! You :P :D
March 16, 200718 yr oh they are in australia...wonder if the radio will start playing there songs now...still havent heard patience
March 16, 200718 yr how did they do before in aussie do you know have they many hots to there name???
March 16, 200718 yr Back for good is their only certified single I can see. It is very hard to find Aussie chart info unless it sells 35,000 or more.
March 16, 200718 yr I don't think the Aussies go a whole bundle on Take That. In one article I read their single Patience was actively shunned by the media. I guess too much bad karma has been done against them over the years by someone. Anyway. We still love them in the UK. And to be honest - I don't want to share them with anyone. Kath
March 17, 200718 yr Cat- that would be FAB! I'm sure i speak for everyone, thanks a million , great to see you posting here. I am amazed how popular TT are on their return ( well i'm not really i guess) , I know that they were the top boy band back in the 90's, to make a comeback on this scale is wonderful. They have matured and each one has in my opinion really looks fit- brilliant 10 years on. I look forward to any snippit you may have on their progress over there, btw..what time is it where you are now??? late at night ??? Will be back laters, off to work now...many thanks again x Edited June 23, 200718 yr by buzzjill

March 17, 200718 yr It's been played heaps on the radio here. Patience that is. Hello Cat I think it hadn't been played a lot (if at all) until the news of the lads visit - thats according to the article I read (I think it was something like the Courier). Anyway - glad its being played now. And we don't mind sharing them too much. Have a nice day! Kathy

I can only go my local radio station here and they have this top 3 at 3pm each weekday (most voted for songs from email/phone/sms) and Patience has been in the top 3 a number of times :) Guess we shall really see tomorrow when the charts get announced how popular the song is!

March 17, 200718 yr how did they do before in aussie do you know have they many hots to there name??? they were not very popular besides back for good It's been played heaps on the radio here. Patience that is. :o ive heard it once on the radio, and i listen to mt two fav stations everyday .... but i am from brisbane and i our stations prefer robbie so they dont play TT's new stuff cause it just isnt popular so it must be a UK fad :( , although back for good has made a radio come back here....but other then that, most people i know wouldnt even know that TT have reformed :( and my friend from sydney went and saw them the other day..she said it was rather sad cause there wasnt a huge turn out...poor boys Edited March 17, 200718 yr by Osiris
March 17, 200718 yr Strange, different people say different things concerning TT popularity in Oz .  nd my friend from sydney went and saw them the other day..she said it was rather sad cause there wasnt a huge turn out...poor boys Actually, on their message board people say that the respond was quite big. They were VERY well recieved and i am sure they gonna be big again in Australia. Its a little bit sad that some RW fans get jealous of TT.... I dont get how Robbie's popularity in OZ can influence on Take That? Westlife could do it in OZ.. I mean PESTLIFE!!! Why would'nt Take That? Besides, Osiris, you're quite young to know Take That first time around, are'nt you? Take That WERE popular in Australia way before BFG was ever released.

I do think that Robbie took the p*** out of the lads, especially Gary Barlow for so long, Oz fans just don't take them seriously anyway and I can't see them ever catching on in Oz this time round. Just my opinion but I don't take Robbie Williams seriously as a musician anyway - good entertainer and terrific actor - but I wouldn't call him a musician. Please - don't jump down my throat - as I said - its just an opinion! Kathy

March 18, 200718 yr You are more than welcome to your opinion however, to say he’s not a musician is not an actual opinion at all. It is just an unbelievably ignorant remark from someone who is either ill-informed or holds some sort of a grudge and wants to put him down. Of course he is a musician, he has written the music to loads of his songs, especially on his last two albums. He wrote a huge chunk of the music on IC. ‘Tripping’ for example was written by him on the base. On Escapology in 2002 he wrote two tracks alone, one of which was so good it was going to be a single in the US. Also he wrote most of ‘Come Undone’, which is in my opinion up there with ‘Angels’ & ‘Feel’. His latest song-writing partner Stephen Duffy even said he was surprised how talented of a writer Robbie was. He obviously like youself, just thought he wrote the lyrics. He is one of the few pop stars these days who actually does write his own songs. Obviously lyrics and the melody of the tracks have always been his strongest point but just because he does’nt play an instrument every time he performs live does not mean he can’t. Look at Michael Jackson for example, Robbie throughout his 11 year career has probably played instruments live more than MJ, does it mean MJ can’t? Cerainly not as he wrote the majority of the music to his tracks as well, but obviously did’nt want to live. He, like Robbie was an amazing entertainer, and for me personally I would rather that type of performance then one sitting still playing a guitar or piano. I have enjoyed performances where he has played the guitar but he seems to find it very hard to sit still or just stand behind a mike stand and thank the lord for that. Can you imagine him in Westlife just sitting on a stool. LOL. As for Australia goes, to blame Robbie in negative manner for any of TT’s success or failure is ridiculous. Next he will be blamed for global warming. Gary Barlow said it himself recently, if it was’nt for Robbie becoming such a massive star on his own and keeping there name alive all these years, there probably would’nt be such a big intrest in them anymore. That is what Gary himself said and no matter how much you hate Robbie you can’t dismiss it. In places like Australia that would obviously apply more. Robbie is undoubtably the biggest international solo artist in Australia this centrury and I highly doubt TT would be on all these massive shows down under if it was’nt for him being so big over there. Why else do you think most of the questions they are asked are to do with him? He has done absolutely nothing to make people go against TT there, infact, it is quite the opposite. Last year, while doing the biggest music tour in Australian history to half a million fans, he performed a TT melody and sang ‘Back For Good’ and had nothing but good things to say about them, same goes to the rest of the world, from places like Chile to South Africa. That would’ve given them the best free publicity they'd never get anywhere else so that is highly unfair to say. As for them not making it this time around, how can you say that when they only just flew over there for the first time last week? Neither of us are Australian so we can’t exactly say how big they were, however the fact is that ‘Back For Good’ was their only single that sold enough to be in any of their end of year charts or certified. It was the 9th best seller of the year 1995 so was clearly a huge hit. As we all know TT broke up soon after that. And as for Pestlife, well I would’nt exactly say they are huge over there. They had a hit album/single with ‘Face to face’ in 2005 but overall I doubt they have sold more than 300,000 albums altogether. But I bet if you were to ask Louis Walsh, he would claim they had sold 10m. Personally I find it very sad that some fans continue to hold grudge, make digs and blame him for the most random things when this is’nt even about him. TT and Rob made up last year, they all seem to have forgotten whatever took place back then which is well over a decade ago now, and are back on good terms. The pathetic media will always pin them against eachother, but that is what they do. But sadly some fans of both TT and Robbie can’t. The majority of them have but there are still some that have’nt and won’t which is a shame imo. I’m sure the lads all find the whole supposed ‘war’ made up by the media pathetic, without actual fans doing it as well. Btw, there is a good interview with the lads here if anyone hasn’t seen it. You can watch the video as well. http://www.news.com.au/sundaymail/story/0,...5003421,00.html
March 18, 200718 yr Oz fans just don't take them seriously anyway and I can't see them ever catching on in Oz this time round. Kathy i agree, whatever popularity they had here has long since gone and i dont think they will ever get back to what they use to be down here...they should stick to the UK as they seem to be doing really well there
