CULTURE BOX ECLECTIC ARTIST

Jamie T's second single is getting a re-issure on May 7th :D

Good idea

I thought So Lonely Was The Ballad was going to be the next single but this re-issue should do better

Jo Whiley confirmed it was this one, with a b-side called Rawhide, a collaboration with Lily Allen

Oh I see. First it was So Lonely Was The Ballad, then Zane Lowe said it was Salvador and now it's Sheila. I still think both SLWTB and Salvador will be released as future singles.

I like Sheila and it's definitley one of the most commercial on the album, but I mean it was only released something like 8 months ago. I know Salvador would be a re-release as well, but first time around that got minimal airplay and zero promotion.

Yeah "Sheila" wasn't released all that long ago, I don't see the benefit of re-releasing that EVER again tbh. It's had it times as a single, I mean it was hardly totally obscure.

Agreed. Record companies should be ashamed of themselves. Re-releases are such a quick fix...and it's getting more and more common. This means they can increase the 'shelf-life' of the album by releasing the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th singles later on (Christ! 'Indie' artists used to get a shed load of abuse for releasing more than two singles off an album)

Boycott it...start as petition for one of the others or something.

i suppose if they can run with an album campaign (and monopolize tescos away from the usual rubbish) they will do so until they feel that artist is truely establish as an a-lister. but only with a 'new signing', come the next album if this campaign is over and first single of the new one doesnt work thats it.

however he ecclectic. so should be able to sustain intertest to fans over a few different genres

2007 Video:

Really liking this video at the moment. Is a fun video but a well known actor (Bob Hoskins) in it, but it has a very powerful message in it, as shown by the ending.

Yeah, but Bob Hoskins looks ridiculous mouthing along :D :D :D

He really does, but it's a good ridiculous rather than a bad ridiculous. If say Jamie T were playing the part of the part that Bob Hoskins play it really wouldn't have the same affect on the audience though.

Everything Jamie T does sounds so good to listen to, but I'd know why his voice is rather difficult to follow, but somehow his stuff just sounds great.
i like this song and love the video

This should hopefully be charting within the Top20 this week! :D

The b-side to this is also very good. ^_^ It's good enough to be on the album at least. :D

he reminds me slightly of if Dizzee Rascal tried to do a mike skinner impression

I really like the song, and I'm glad the reissue has beaten the peak of it's original release, but I much prefer the 2006 video. Bob Hoskins and everyone else in that video are terrible at lip-syncing. I suppose the new video has more to do with the actual meaning of the song than the first video though.

Sometime totally infectious about this song. Justing loving it at the moment.

Like the new video also, as it explains the song a little.
