Britney Hooked On Rehab?

Britney Spears snubbed a day out with her family to stay in her rehab hideaway.

The tormented singer was given the chance yesterday to leave the clinic to catch up with loved ones.

But Brit, 25, has become so dependent on her treatment she decided to remain at the centre in Malibu, California.

She has been at the plush Promises clinic for two weeks on a “cleansing†routine. The pop princess has been given a strict regime which charts her day from the minute she wakes up to when she goes to sleep at night.

Starting at 7am, she has a daily workout in the gym with a personal trainer, then has acupuncture and does yoga. She also finds time to fit in a therapy session.

A pal of Brit’s said: “The place is doing her the world of good.

“She feels really comfortable there and treats it like home now. She thinks it’s good to be away from all the craziness in her life and live by a simple routine which makes her focus on what’s going on with her.

“She wants to sort herself out and cutting herself off from the outside world is helping her.â€

The centre is designed to give patients a total break from their normal lives, cutting them off from the outside world by removing phones and TV sets.

The clinic’s bosses have spent thousands on the decor, turning it into a sunshine retreat boasting rustic farmhouse-style buildings, lush gardens and swanky bedroom suites.

Britney was initially going to stay in rehab for the minimum 35-45 days, thinking she did not have a real problem.

But after treatment at the clinic she realised that she is in trouble and has now agreed to stay for three months.

At first she got into trouble for repeatedly breaking the clinic’s rules.

The mum-of-two refused to go to group therapy sessions, was caught using her mobile phone and even went on a shopping trip.

But all that has changed as she concentrates on getting her life back on track following a dramatic few months after splitting from husband Kevin Federline, 28.

She shaved off all her hair and attacked a car with her umbrella.

It's not that she 'snubbed a day out'. For her it's more of staying in rehab ensures the media are at arms length. She can't just take a day out without getting photographed everywhere so it seems best to stay in until done.

Couldn't agree with you more! She gets her pictured snapped everytime she leaves for an AA meeting!

Agree... and also, I hate that now they label her as "the tormented singer", get a grip!

Anyways, if it's better for her, then I'm glad she's staying at rehab for much longer, I've always wondered if 30-45 days would be enough... never seemed enough for a treatment but maybe that's only the feeling I get. If she sticks 90 days in rehab, then I'm sure she'll get out healthier and more confident.

I agree Lucy. I think that the 3 months will only increase her chances of staying sober.
I agree with what you've said ... 45 days was never going to sort out the problems built up over the last 8 years. She should stay and get better :)

It isn't confirmed though...
