This is almost definitely the next single I'd think judging by everyone's reaction, like it in all the live videos I've seen but I'll reserve judgement myself until the studio version ^_^

Arctic Monkeys - Fluorescent Adolescent Release Date: June, date to be confirmed

Great news. :cheer: Most catchiest and commercial song and should do very well chart wise. Another potential #1 as well. :D

D Is For Dangerous, Teddy Picker or 505 as single #3 hopefully.

I'm quite surprised the single is already announced... but well, I think the song, like the whole album, is a grower, so I'm sure I'll love it at the end ^^

Matt confirmed that this was to be the 2nd single at a gig in Barcelona a few weeks ago, but then there was speculation that D Is For Dangerous was to be infact single #2, after something else was said. FA is the best song on the album for me and the best choice for a 2nd single as well.

they didnt play it in london (the same with 505)!!!the probably 2 best tracks of the album.i love their attitude...

At the Astoria gigs tonight? Or last night?

Arctic Monkeys bring new album to London

UK capital hears 'Favourite Worst Nightmare'

12.Apr.07 10:46pm

Arctic Monkeys gave London its first glimpse of forthcoming album 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' at the first of two sold-out Astoria shows tonight (April 12).

The band showcased seven tracks from the eagerly awaited record, which is released on April 23. They were new single 'Brianstorm', 'Balaclava', 'Teddy Picker', 'Do Me A Favour', 'This House Is A Circus', 'Old Yellow Bricks' and 'If You Were There, Beware'.

Surprisingly however, proposed future single 'Flourescent Adolescent' was not performed.

The 18-song set did also feature a host of crowd-pleasers from 2006 debut LP 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not', including the Number One singles 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor' and 'When The Sun Goes Down'.

Before introducing the former, frontman Alex Turner said to the crowd "It's awful nice to see you again."

Though stage banter was kept to a minimum, though Turner later declaring he "didn't give a f***" after hearing chants from the crowd about London team Tottenham Hotspur being knocked out of the UEFA Cup tonight.

The band played:

'If You Found This It's Probably Too Late'

'Brianstorm'

'Still Take You Home'

'Dancing Shoes'

'From The Ritz To The Rubble'

'Balaclava'

'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor'

'Teddy Picker'

'Do Me A Favour'

'Mardy Bum'

'Fake Tales Of San Francisco'

'This House Is A Circus'

'Old Yellow Bricks'

'If You Were There, Beware'

'The View From The Afternoon'

'You Probably Couldn't See For The Lights But You Were Looking Straight At Me'

'When the Sun Goes Down'

'Leave Before The Lights Come On'

'A Certain Romance'

Arctic Monkeys continue the sold-out tour at the same venue tomorrow night (April 13) and then they will play:

Liverpool Carling Academy (14)

Newcastle Carling Academy (16)

Dundee Caird Hall (17)

Glasgow Barrowlands (18)

Birmingham Carling Academy (20)

Sheffield Leadmill (21, 22)

Arctic Monkeys, meanwhile, went to Number 11 in the UK singles charts this week with downloads of new song 'Brianstorm' - the physical single is not released until April 16.

I've heard 'Fluorescent Adolescent,' now and I think it seems a very good choice for a 2nd single from 'Favourite Worst Nightmare,' without even hearing the rest of the album, it's not as heavy as 'Brianstorm,' but they probably wouldn't have a sucessful 2nd single if it was because the fans obviously want the 2nd single to differ to the 1st.

FA has to be one of the catchiest tracks they've done. To me it's effectivley the Mardy Bum off Favourite Worst Nightmare. Is extremley catchy and shall hopefully chart high and do well for the album. :D

'Mardy Bum,' should've definitley been a single imo but the release of this probably makes up for it anyway, Arctic Monkeys probably knew that they wanted to make another song as strong and as catchy as that which they were also going to give a release. :D Either way no matter how much the album sells I think 'Fluorescent Adolescent,' could well give the band another top 5. :D
