'GLAM' ROCKS: Only six solo female artists have been able to pull two or more Hot 100 No. 1 singles from a debut album in the last 20 years. The list includes Tiffany, Paula Abdul, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce and, as of this week, Fergie.

The Black Eyed Peas' member collects her second No. 1 as a solo artist with "Glamorous" (will.i.am/A&M), the third single from her album, "The Dutchess." The first single, "London Bridge," spent three weeks in pole position, while the follow-up, "Fergalicious," had to settle for peaking at No. 2.

This is Fergie's second No. 1 but it's the fourth for featured artist Ludacris. He first visited the penthouse in December 2003 with "Stand Up," which featured Shawna. In February 2004, Ludacris began a 12-week reign by guest starring on Usher's "Yeah!" Then in October 2006, "Money Maker," which featured Pharrell, ruled for two weeks.

"Glamorous" replaces Mims' "This Is Why I'm Hot" at the top of the Hot 100. Even though it only had a two-week run at No. 1, the Mims song is the longest-running title to advance to No. 1 in 2007. Nelly Furtado's "Say It Right" and Justin Timberlake's "What Goes Around...Comes Around" were each No. 1 for one week.

"Glamorous" is also No. 1 on Hot Digital Songs. The difference between this chart and the Hot 100 is that this is Fergie's third No. 1 on the digital tally. "London Bridge" and "Fergalicious" both topped this chart, giving Fergie the honor of being the female artist with the highest total of No. 1s since the chart was initiated in January 2005.

'BEER' RUN: The Hot 100 is not the only chart sporting a new No. 1 this week. Kenny Chesney's "Beer in Mexico" (BNA) succeeds Trace Adkins' "Ladies Love Country Boys" (Capitol) on Hot Country Songs.

"Beer" is Chesney's 11th chart-topper in a career that spans 13 years and three months, counting from the debut of "Whatever It Takes" the week of Dec. 18, 1993. While he has a long way to go to match the 42 No. 1 hits racked up by George Strait since 1981, Chesney is just 10 No. 1s away from Tim McGraw's total of 21, collected since making his chart debut in 1992. Toby Keith has 15 No. 1s, starting with his first chart entry in 1993. They all have a head start on Keith Urban, who has scored seven No. 1s since making his chart debut in August 1999.

'GOING' HER WAY: Sure, it's nice to win an Academy Award, but does it compare to having your first No. 1 hit on a Billboard chart? You'll have to ask Jennifer Hudson, who collects the 112th No. 1 for the "American Idol" franchise this week with her version of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" (Music World/Columbia). The "Dreamgirls" track moves 3-1 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart.

Hudson is the first "Idol" contestant to top this chart. Kelly Clarkson's highest-ranked Club Play song, "Walk Away," was No. 5 in May 2006. Fantasia went to No. 21 in April 2005 with "It's All Good."

This is the second time "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" has registered on the Club Play chart. The first time was in the last quarter of 2001, when a version by Rosabel featuring Jennifer Holliday peaked at No. 6. Holliday performed the song on the original cast album of "Dreamgirls," and while her original single peaked at No. 22 on the Hot 100 in 1982, it did not appear on the Club Play survey.
