So both Beyonce & Shakira and Arctic Monkeys are releasing their brand new singles physically on the same day, but which of them (if either) do we all think is most likely to be #1? :o

 

I'm gonna say Arctic Monkeys. Obviously my opinion has a slight sense of bias in it because i'm a fan of Arctic Monkeys, but Brainstorm does literally seem to be going down a storm and the single track listing is VERY strong. Saying that though the same could be said for Beyonce and Shakira. That has a decent track listing as well and seems to be going down well in the UK and both videos are now doing the rounds on the music channels, but I still think Brainstorm will be #1 on the week it's physically released, BUT Beyonce and Shakira are more likely to have better staying power so they could possibly be the #1 the following week after the Arctics have fallen a bit, if they get to #1.

Well I hope they can! :lol: I'm not too hopeful though. Leave Before The Lights Come On did awful on downloads but saying that, Brianstorm is a lot better track than LBTLCO and there will be more promotion for the track this time around, so who knows! :lol:

Ahhhh I thought it was. I know for a fact though it sold most of what it did in its first week because of physical sales and it only sold a never small amount of downloads.

I always thought it would get to #1. :lol: I was quite suprised when it didn't. The tracklisting was quite strong as well, but the b-sides were just covers of not that well known songs and i'm pretty sure they leaked before the single was released, were as now the tracks are all original and new for Brianstorm and one of them is with Dizzee Rascal so maybe some of this more hardcore fans might be tempted to pick up the single just for his b-side. :lol: That's the track i'm looking forward to hearing the most. I've a feeling it'll be either nothing short of a genius or it'll be complete bollocks! :lol:

i actually like brainstorm and it feels like a #1 single and i think it will get it, i see artics at the top cause they're british and so have a much bigger fan base here, i'd be happy with #2 for the ladies however the following week BL may have a chance at #1 the song should have stronger legs than the monkeys, it will be interesting to see what happens...

There's more challengers than just that. There's still Bovril and Mark Ronson from previous weeks and Mika, Timbaland and Bedingfield the same week.

agree.its a classic comeback single n maybe the best track of the year so far.

Brianstorm is doing much better than Beautiful Liar on downloads alone, so I think Brianstorm will get the top spot! Also, as much as I like Beautiful Liar, I think it's too cliché and people might notice that.
