eeek, probably my poor choice of cover for the week, no one else fancies a challenge.

I know that you're like trying to add diversity, but these people I'm sure some people have not even heard of. So even if you're trying to switch from the pop/rnb/rock of artists usually known, sometimes its just.... So...

I know but it wasnt a very diverse poll - all males and no solo artisits, which makes things v hard. I know you need diversity but we did have a band last week. Not critiscising mikey though, he does a great job, its just sometimes hard to judge.

but, I didn't select it :D there was a poll, to decide on the cover, so don't blame me, anyhow just wait till Sunday, everyone should be happy

What will happen if there arent 10 covers? If there are say 8, will the points go from 10 to 3?

Instead of 10, 9 etc it will become 5,4 3 etc at least everyone will get a point this week  and might push a lot of regulars down the leaderboard

Still. Look how many people have turned one in.

true, I didn't vote for it myself and I'm not from the uk and don't know anything about comic relief or the characters so it was challenge but I didn't mind although it was a struggle ^_^

considering Little Britain even has a big following in the States now... I find it hard to believe people haven't heard of Andy (unless they've been living under a stone for the past 3 years)..... Brian Potter maybe not... but expand your knowledge - if you don't know the act... there's a little thing called Google... give it a whirl, folks. Do some research.

Whether you like the act, or have heard of them - PEOPLE, DOES IT MATTER?

This is a DESIGN contest... not a 'pop female artist we all know' contest.... you have the pics available - use them    It's utterly irrelevant WHO the cover is for - what matters is the COVER, remember?

I mean, there's some people on here who only design for female artists - WHAAAAT? All this 'oh it's easier to design for females' is absolute, utter, total nonsense.

If you're all going to be so prissy about who you want to design for and not.... you're in the wrong competition... I've designed stuff on here for totally VILE trash - Girls Aloud, Gwen Stefani, absolutely gut-churning nonsense.... but so what? It's the designs you enter and the designs that matter.... not how shockingly embarrassing the act you're doing it for is.

Get a grip, folks.

Okay, its not easier to vote for female artists but it is much more fun and the results show that - just look at the difference between the covers entered for the Sweet Escape and then those for Shes Madonna.

heres my entry, as i had no ideas i just came up with this perthetic attempt

. . . and your result is great! I think your idea is even cleverer now that I know you don't know the characters or the context!

That's actually really good, and funny. It's how Brian Potter would've had it designed!

absolute baloney... the Robbie covers were FAR more entertaining..... especially the ones of him in drag... and remember - Madonna herself was on the majority of those designs, so that blows your flimsy argument out of the water anyway.

When you were in Art class in school... did you refuse to draw males in the class because the females were more 'fun'? Did you refuse to draw bits of wood or plants because it wasn't 'fun'? Art is art - end of.

You're talking unadulterated nonsense.... the gender of the act has zero relevance. Less than zero relevance, actually.

I agree Russ, at the end of the day, it's all imagery, and how you make the most of the subject!

That's what it's all about, graphic skills, and design!

Actually, I must admit that half the band/artists I make covers for, I have know idea who the hell they are, :P I just google stuff and hope for the best!

I have to say Russ, you do make me laugh, the way you get in there and say what you think....bloody hilarious, I love it!

I'm Victor Meldrew reincarnate, me :P

All this niggly girly bitching, though...oh please...... get on with it, girls

I didn't take it as you being narky about this, I perceived it as you having passion for it . . .

aww you're right.

My point is... if I don't b**ch about being asked to do something as revolting as a Girls Aloud or Gwen Stefani cover.... why do people moan about the bleedin' GENDER or GENRE of the act they're given?

Mikey must be throwing up his hands and shaking his head in despair....
