Elizabeth Taylor Gives Britney Some Tough Advice

Movie icon Dame Elizabeth Taylor has offered up her best advice to struggling stars like Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears in a hardhitting new TV interview.

The beloved actress urges today's Hollywood starlets to stop grumbling about the hazards of fame, growling, "Fame costs you privacy... You have no right to a private life."

Taylor's tough words came during the recent taping on an interview with US news show Entertainment Tonight, which aired last night (15Mar07).

The Oscar winner states, "If you want to be private, don't go out seeking it (attention). Home is a very nice place, you can make it a nice place."

Taylor suggests Hollywood's party girls only have themselves to blame when life in the spotlight starts driving them crazy - and into rehab.

She adds, "Some of those young kids go out courting the press. If that's what you want, that's what you're going to get. There are a million ways to avoid it."

The screen legend advises young stars to learn from her example, and stick to hosting celebrity parties at home: "You can have your own circle of friends and be with them.

"You don't have to go out partying every night where the photographers are."

She has a point... And if there's one thing Elizabeth Taylor knows only too well it is the bitter costs of fame - what happened in her own life is proof of that.. Britney and Co would do very well to heed her words, she knows what she's talking about...

Exactly, she's getting straight to the point. Even when Britney's suffering now, Elizabeth is right about seeking attention and getting what you asked for... and I'm sure you can avoid the media if you want as well, which in Britney's case would mean moving with her family in Louisiana or moving outside the USA. She wouldn't escape from it entirely, but it surely wouldn't be as crazy and disturbing as it is right now.
