Metallica to play Wembley

PA Entertainment

Metallica will play a show at Wembley Stadium as part of their Sick Of The Studio '07 summer tour, it's been announced.

The rockers said they are excited about playing the gig on July 8.

Drummer Lars Ulrich said: "Like just about any aspiring rock musician, we always dreamed of someday headlining the marquee venues around the world, such as Madison Square Garden, Candlestick Park, Budokan, the LA Coliseum... and of course, Wembley Stadium.

"Any band who denies wanting to be up on that stage in front of that many fans is just bull*****ing you."

The tour is intended to give the foursome a break before they start recording their new album, which is due for release in 2008.

"Sometimes we get a little tired of staring at the same four walls of the recording studio, as well as the same faces that inhabit the studio day in and day out, and we need to get out and just PLAY!" added Lars.

"This tour gives us a chance to stretch out a bit and jam in front of real fans."

Tickets will go on sale on March 21 at 9am from 0870 602 1123 or 0870 400 0688 and www.LiveNation.co.uk or www.ticketrush.co.uk.

Will any of you be trying to get tickets for this gig or not?

I love the name of the tour...

As for actually going, I doubt it tbh... I find Metallica rather tired and boring now. Their glories are long behind them, too many c**p albums, too many disappointments throughout the 90s and 00s for me to really give a damn about them now.... I saw them at their peak in the late-80s, nothing they can do now will ever top that....

id love to go im sure itd be amazing
