Posted March 21, 200718 yr Arctic Monkeys' speedy album PA Entertainment Arctic Monkeys have reportedly revealed why they rushed to get their second album out - it is because they wanted it to come out exactly a year after their debut. Unfortunately for the lads it seems they missed their self imposed deadline by two months. The record, Favourite Worst Nightmare, hits the shelves on April 23, just 14 months after the release of debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not. Frontman Alex Turner told NME.com: "The only pressure was what we put on ourselves because we wanted to do it quick and try get it out at the same time as the last one came out. That were the plan. "Ultimately, we thought if we carried that on for a few years it might become like a Bank Holiday or something. It'd be a national holiday! "The first one came out February 12 or something so we were trying to get this one to come out February 12, but a year later. We missed it by two months, we were f****** about."
March 21, 200718 yr The last album came out offically on January 23rd last year! :lol: Shows how much they know. :lol: I'm glad they've got the album out quick though. Too many bands just laze about with their albums taking forever and it's furstrating for the fans, but the danger in releasing it too quickly is that people may become bored of you or whatever still from what i've heard so far about the album, it's gonna be amazing.
March 21, 200718 yr i dont see why people are sometimes against bands doing an album per year, prince, adam and the ants, ub40, t rex, queen, david bowie, beatles and loads of others all used to do an album a year.

Too many albums though can create a backlash for the artist nowadays, like just look at Robbie Williams. Some people think Rudebox is golden, others think it's awful. You're always gonna get that when it comes to new albums and now when an artist makes a new album it's only really a year's work because they've been putting out four singles out so by the time they've finished releasing all the singles it's time for the new album within the year.
