I don't see why people are saying 12 tracks is short, I thought that was the amount of tracks a standard album has? :unsure:

Yeah but two of the tracks were the singles from Music Of The Sun

 

The cover looks different, more grown up than her last one, so the music should be more grown up aswell :D

I like the cover ,, but it's something totally different then we're used from Rihanna,, 12 tracks is short <= Same reason

There's actually NOT A SINGLE BALLAD as such, a couple of slower tracks, but no real ballads. :o The album version of Umbrella is extended to, it doesn't just cut off in the middle of the "it's rainin' rainin'" bits either, she goes on to tell us how it's POURING too.

Okay my review:

 

Umbrella - The new ending makes it SO much better for me personally.

 

Shut Up & Drive - Miles better than the radio rip, still not my favourite, but it'll definitely grow now.

 

Don't Stop The Music - This is like a more mature Pon De Replay, LOVE IT.

 

Push Up On Me - Quite bland R&B, one of these "i'm a sexy woman" type of songs, it sounds like a Pussycat Dolls album track.

 

Lemme Get That - This track could have been lifted straight off MOTS, not very keen on it. A little bit dancehall like.

 

Question Existing - Starts out very sexy, and then it all gets quite philsophical like "who am I living for?" and yes, that is actually a line from the song.

 

Rehab - This is a breakup song and about wanting them back etc. Quite a good song actually. ^_^ Very mellow. :D

 

Breakin' Dishes - Starts out very cheer-leader-esque a bit like Avril. Then turns into a very slick R&B track about ruining your man, and about how bad he treats you.

 

Sell Me Candy - Starts out quite childlike. Don't let it fool you though it's EXCELLENT! It's about people killing your dreams and stuff, very catchy! :heart:

 

Good Girl Gone Bad - Okay this track is actually guitar lead, and actually sounds a bit like Irreplaceable. :| The title pretty much explains the song. Catchy chorus. :D

 

Hate That I Love You - I think everyone pretty much knows this track by now. Sounds like the backing track from Sexy Love and is a duet with Ne*Yo.

 

Say It - Very lullaby-esque. Pretty much a run of the mill R&B track, mid-tempo, quite bland.

 

Overall, i'm not sure. It's a lot better than MOTS, but i'm not sure about if it's better than AGLM yet, it'll grow on me a lot more as time goes by so i'll let you know then. :P As for the singles, well we're obviously getting Shut Up & Drive next, I would like to see Don't Stop The Music and Sell Me Candy as future singles, but we'll have to see. :D

''Push Up On Me'' is very sexy and very catchy. Simple but it works, sounds a bit like JoJo's ''The Way You Do Me''

 

''Lemme Get That'' has a reggae vibe to it but I like it lots. Definetly not the best though.

 

''Rehab'' is amazing :wub: I can relate to it so much! This is my ''Unfaithful'' or ''Now I Know'' of the album. Amazingly written and produced. It's better as a album track cause it doesnt have general appeal but its amazing :wub:

10/10 Umbrella You can listen to this song over & over again and still it's not boring, the best song on the album!

09/10 Don't Stop The Music The song is very simple but I love it actually, it's a new style!

10/10 Hate That I Love You Ft. Ne-Yo and I love it, this is a song that leaked before and first I thought it was nice but after listening the song more it's actually awesome!
