..But an honest opinion....

This aint an O.F., so criticism of the contest should be allowed IMO....

Too right , why on earth should we say something is great when it obviously is not! This show should have been scrapped years ago, the content and quality of some of the singers each year wouldn't get past the boot camp in X Factor, c**p is about a fair description. Last years entry from the uK was a joke. Terry is brilliant and always worth listening to..pi$$ed or not!

Yes, SOME of the singers, it doesn't get past the fact that it also provides lots of great entries each year - I cannot think of a contest in the last 10 years in which there have been less than 10 good entries. You refer to the UK's entries as an example - well, the UK is quickly becoming infamous for sending dire crap, the entire country seems to think it is a joke and still be stuck in the mentality that it is a camp bubblegum pop-fest when in reality that pretty much stopped about 8/9 years ago (depending on how camp you classify 1999's winner...), which is WHY the entries we send are jokes, which is WHY we haven't sent a good entry since 2002 (Jessica Garlick, who finished third, showing if you SEND something good it will actually be acknowledged...), which is WHY we do bad. People tend to focus on the bad of the competition (these days only about 5 songs out of the 40...VAST minority) more than the good, hence why people seem to think it is a joke.

And why do you think it should be scrapped? It's not a talent contest by any means, that wasn't the original reason it was started up, and viewing figures show that Europe would HEAVILY diagree (as well as places like the USA and Australia which also view it about a week later...) with any cancellation. Anyway, there's not much I can do as this is clearly opinion based, but I'll just leave a few entries to show that Eurovision DOES produce some good singers each year...

2003, Greece, Mando - Never Let You Go

2005, Sweden, Carola - Invincible

2007, Slovenia, Alenka Gotar - Cvet Z Juga

2002, Malta, Ira Losco - 7th Wonder

2007, Armenia, Hayko - Anytime You Need

2004, Serbia & Montenegro, Zeljko Joksimovic - Lane Moje

Sorry mate, actually I think they are OK at best! What is it about everyone who enters, they seem stuck in some time warp with the fashions and dancing , cheesy and dated. But thankx for taking the time showing these acts. I mean no disrespect Tyron, I am not a fan of the EC, I guess that about sums me . I like good, solid stuff with meaning, not candy floss music.

Still rate terry though, he is funny t owatch and makes that shw worth a lk :P

Well, at least you took the time to watch them, I suppose it's all down to taste really, thanks for at least watching them long enough to give an opinion ^_^

Cheers mate ;)

Ira Losco's brilliant, I have heard a lot of her other songs and they are great, one of them called In Love Again was out a couple of years back and she is still massive in Malta

I went there on holiday for 10 days for New Year's 2004, they absolutely love her there

Really, I'd like to go there-how was it?

Warm for December/January  The sights were good ^_^

The music was good too :D They were asking people to apply for their entry in 2004 (Julie & Ludwig got it IIRC) and there were lots of posters around and the radio kept going on about it  They really do deserve to win at some point :(
