Mutya: I'd love to still be a Sugababe

Mutya has spoken out about her decision to leave the Sugababes

 

Mutya Buena has reportedly said she quit the Sugababes partly because she was suffering from post-natal depression.

 

The singer also told RWD magazine she felt she wasn't given time to adjust to motherhood.

 

Mutya, who left the band in December 2005 after baby Tahlia Maya was born, is quoted as saying: "I suffered from post-natal depression after my daughter Tahlia was born.

 

"That was part of me wanting to leave the group. Everything became a downer and I just couldn't be bothered.

 

"But it did get to the point where I couldn't take any more and it was horrible. All you know is that you feel down and you want to cry."

 

Mutya, who releases her debut solo album later this year, said she was forced to choose between her daughter and the band.

 

"My daughter got ill and we had to do a show, so I think when those things started happening people started getting frustrated with me," she said.

 

"I told everyone I could not choose between my daughter and work because there's no way I would choose work. My daughter could get ill and then I'm going to have to kill everyone if anything happens to her. It's simple."

 

She added: "What would have been perfect would be if the girls had left me alone. If they'd just given me a bit more time, I'd love to still be in the Sugababes."

 

Do you think the band was better with Mutya or better now with Amelle?

Amelle is my favourite Sugababe of all time.

Now if Heidi- i cant sing without shaking my voice as if its been put in a blender -Range had left and it was Amelle, Keisha and Mutya, that would be my ideal Sugababe line-up.

Im a big heidi fan i would have respondin badly to that :angry: but as your a bev knight fan i couldnt possibly even think of doin :P I love Sugababes end of with mutya or without i like Amelle alot i think shes fitted in well not too bothered about Siobhan though :lol:

I love amelle in the band so much more but if mutya rejoined and made it a foursome it would look even better... if only siobhan rejoined too... an unstoppable match for GA :lol:

FOR ME the band is about the music and nothing to do with the girls as they sound the same

I love them all tbh (except god damn Siobhan). Heidi seems like the nicest, most natural of all. Keisha is the hottest and Amelle has the best voice. :P

I think the Sugababes would still be better with Mutya in, but it won't happen now, and Amelle's writing her own songs so all credit to her
