April 16, 200619 yr Btw- what about our 'Survivors' when you're in NY? Are you taking your laptop? :) Nope sorry but i don't have a labtop  I'm only going for 5 days so hopefully someone will volunteer to continue to do the survivor in my absence ;)
April 16, 200619 yr Author You seem to know me so well.... B) have we met before??? Don't think so Twinkle but I did have a tub of tulips when I was a kid. They won me second prize at the village flower show.... Twinkle, did Scotty tell you that you and me both made it onto yesterdays Top 10 Posters list? I think it must have been our epic Friday night Survivor.
April 16, 200619 yr Author Yes. Go to the Main Buzzjack Index Page. Near the bottom (after Your feedback) you'll see 'Today's Top 10 Posters'.
April 16, 200619 yr Don't think so Twinkle but I did have a tub of tulips when I was a kid. They won me second prize at the village flower show..... Wow....I love tulips!!!! And of course I live in a windmill, wear clogs and eat cheese all the time :D ;) ;)
April 16, 200619 yr Author Excellent! I love windmills. I wear a kilt all the time. Eat nothing but haggis and drink nothing but whisky. Scotty was No 1 in the Top 10. I was No 3 and you were No 4. :cheer:
April 16, 200619 yr Jupiter9 I have tried to send you a pm, but it won't go, it comes back with 'server error' So I will tell you my theory here, DB used silcone skin patches, put on when he wiped Robbie's arms with what we thought were antispectic wipes. They are very realistic. I also noticed the patch when he removed the needle from the arm that didn't bleed. I do think Robbie's apprehension was real though, he wouldn't have known and could have thought that the needles had passed through his arms. They wouldn't have told him in order to get a realistic response from him. He did look a little :puke2:
April 16, 200619 yr Author  Suse. I got your PM reply fine.. Oh No. Now all the world knows the secret. :o It's ok Twinkle. I'm sure it was all real. Keep the Faith. ;)
April 16, 200619 yr It all looked real enough to me, although I'm sure your theory is right. Poor Robbie looked genuinely concerned, especially when the needles were being removed. I had to look away at that point too  Fascinating viewing, if only to see Robbie concentrating so hard on his rendition of 3 Blind Mice! Have a great time in NY Scotty, you lucky thing! I was there a year ago and I love it, can't wait to go back! You'll have so much fun you certainly won't need a laptop!
April 17, 200619 yr Church leaders have blasted British pop star Robbie Williams Church leaders have blasted British pop star Robbie Williams for his part in a stomach-churning 'crucifixion' stunt aired on TV last night (16APR06). The Easter Sunday shocker showed the ANGELS hitmaker being pierced by 14 inch (35.5 centimetre) needles while strung up on a make-shift cross, mimicking JESUS CHRIST's execution. The controversial gimmick was the brainchild of British illusionist DERREN BROWN, who first hypnotised his celebrity victim. Williams, looking visibly shaken, later joked he liked the novel 'body art' and giggled, "I want to decorate myself like that. Perhaps Derren can come on tour and insert (the needles)." But Reverend IAN GREGORY, of the singer's hometown Stoke-on-Trent, slammed the trick as tasteless and insensitive. He added, "To trivialise the most important event in history is unforgivable." He was backed up by Lichfield Cathedral spokesman GAVIN DRAKE who said: "It was obviously an attempt to trivialise the cross." TV network Channel 4 has dismissed the furore, insisting it was a magic trick, not a religious slur. Source
April 17, 200619 yr I am sorry but to me there are worse things in the name of religion than this programme, maybe Channel 4 shouldn't have scheduled it as they did though.
April 17, 200619 yr If they had stuck a spear in his side, nailed his wrists to a cross and left him there to die they MIGHT have a valid argument... luckily tv and the media don't promote this image like THE CHURCH does
April 17, 200619 yr Author  I bet none of those doing the complaining actually saw the show. It didn't even remind me of the Crucifixion. More like the inside of an S and M dungeon ( not that I know what one of them looks like of course  )
April 17, 200619 yr what a load of b%£+&ks can you imagine any one of the clergy who made the comments actually sat down on Easter Sunday to watch Derren Brown last night  I doubt it. It was good TV though. Enjoyed trying to fathom out how Derren Brown did it, very intriguing. I did suss out the trick straight away. And watching the clips on tape confirms it. Anyway, why does Robbie always get in the doghouse. Shouldn't Channel 4 come under fire more for timing the show on Easter Sunday or Derren Brown. All Robbie did was turn up!! Geez, the press and media piss me off. As for the clergy there is an awful lot more going on in this world to look at and condemn other than a trick, which I don't even think it resembles or comes close to looking like a Crucifixion. I think they should broaden their outlook because not eveything in that type of pose means 'cross' Anyway Robbie looked fabulous, even though he looked worried. Bless him. Admire his individualism and guts. Edited April 17, 200619 yr by Jackie
