Posted March 31, 200718 yr Darius is listed alongside nigel harman, jonathon wilkes and ben richards as [playing the leading part of sky masterson in the guys and dolls tour. I think this has only just been put on the official site so it doesnt state which places he will be playing.
March 31, 200718 yr Author Presumably this is why he is not appearing at dressed to kilt in new york.
March 31, 200718 yr probably, it sure is great news. perhaps he is working his way upto the part of Ret Butler if they do that musical, becasue I really can see him as that part. a new blog is up on myspace announcing darius in Guy and Dolls! Edited March 31, 200718 yr by prettyinpink
March 31, 200718 yr I don't know if I can get cover for my father-in-law. My husband is away at the moment, so I can't check. I'd hate to miss this. I loved Patrick Swazye in it, I would love to see Darius doing it.
March 31, 200718 yr I think this is good - as long as it doesn't get in the way of his own music - that's what started me supporting him. With it being hundreds of miles from London, maybe more people will get a chance to see him.
March 31, 200718 yr :yahoo: I'm so excited its so close to where I live :yahoo: Do you think he will call round for a cuppa?
March 31, 200718 yr Author Not so good for me living in devon especially as guys and dolls was at plymouth in january but ben richards was Sky masterson and bonnie langford was the female lead, would have gone then if D had been in it. Shame baytree hasnt been on she will be thrilled so close for her.
April 1, 200718 yr  Can't believe he's at Liverpool and I'm away....I'm beginning to think he doesn't like my company :o
April 1, 200718 yr some one fill me in, wil D be singing Luck be a lady. I have no idea about this muscial or Sky and can't get any clues online form their site. I have to say I can hear D's rich vocals in his american accent singing Luck be a lady tonight - I mean we all heard how well he does this type of genre at maidstone with Fly me to the moon, moondance and the like. cant wat to see if we get any photos of him in character. having seen some reviews and pics from broadway etc I can really see Shaun as nathen, it is a shame it is so far away from me, as it does sound a good comedy musical, and Darius as "smooth talking" but at the same time a gentleman, Sky does seem apt. this isnt an april the 1st joke is it??!! April 1, 200718 yr Author It is very apt PIP. as soon as he came out of chicago my thoughts were of another part and this part was it. I have seen guys and dolls some time ago. It is all good acting experience and there is no reason why his music should suffer it is only for just over two weeks. It is much needed exposure especially outside london and back on home turf as it were.

April 1, 200718 yr When we saw G&D in London, we decided that Sky would be the best role for him. It's nice that they agree with us.
April 1, 200718 yr I found this about the West End 'Guys and Dolls' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Show Listing Email this Article Printer-friendly -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RELATED ARTICLES: 12 Mar 2007 -- London Guys and Dolls Eyes Broadway 23 Nov 2006 -- Don Johnson to Join London's Guys and Dolls 02 Oct 2006 -- Swayze Extends Again in London Guys and Dolls 31 Aug 2006 -- Swayze Extends Run in West End Guys and Dolls 27 Jul 2006 -- Swayze Makes London Debut in Guys and Dolls July 27 London Guys and Dolls Sets Closing Date By John Nathan 16 Mar 2007 Michael Grandage's West End production of Guys and Dolls will finish its run after nearly two years on April 14. "Miami Vice" star Don Johnson is currently leading the cast in the role of Nathan Detroit. Johnson is scheduled to finish his extended run in the production on March 31. Grandage's revival of Frank Loesser's classic musical opened at the Piccadilly Theatre on June 1, 2005, with Ewan McGregor and Jane Krakowski as, respectively, Sky Masterson and Miss Adelaide. Grandage recently revealed plans for a 2008 New York version of the production. The original Broadway production of Guys and Dolls opened at the 46th Street Theatre in November 1950, running for 1,200 performances before closing Nov. 28, 1953. Among the premiere cast were Robert Alda as Sky Masterson, Isabel Bigley as Sarah Brown, Sam Levene as Nathan Detroit and Vivian Blaine as Miss Adelaide. Blaine re-created her role for the 1955 film, which also starred Marlon Brando as Sky, Jean Simmons as Sarah Brown and Frank Sinatra as Nathan Detroit. April 1, 200718 yr Author My thoughts on that write up is that Patrick swayze is a very good dancer!!! Also don johnson as nathan detroit - Sean williamson isnt quite the look of don johnson but he is a good singer. Am just glad that D appears to have two good females opposite him and not clare sweeney. It is a lot of rehearsing for a short run but the american accent from chicago will be easy unless its a different style.
April 1, 200718 yr I have to say if nathan is the chubby one I have seen in the pics - then Shaun looks the part mind you that poster of Darius with a hand of Poker does seem a very Sky type pose from what I read of the gambling in G&D all he needs is a tribly at a cocky angle http://usera.imagecave.com/livetwice/dariusposter2.JPG Edited April 1, 200718 yr by prettyinpink
April 1, 200718 yr I can't remember who sang what. Patrick was Nathan and his dancing and acting was good and the singing OK. It'll be really interesting to see how D manages the dancing. Sky does less than Nathan, but he is involved in a couple of big numbers. His voice should be perfect for this. As should his stage presence, he can dominate a stage. It's a shame he's not doing more locations. Local to me would be really nice.
April 1, 200718 yr Author I could see Sean williamson as Amos in chicago but am a bit surprised that he has a bigger part although he is a very experienced actor and has a quite interesting past.
