I cant remember who sings what either but am going to look out for a seconbdhand version of the film which starred marlon brando as sky and frank sinatra as nathan with jean simmons in the female lead. It was made such a long time ago in 1955 and dont remmber another version since which is suprising but maybe not as musicals havent been in vogue on the big screen for a while.

Amazon had the dvd for less than £5. I've ordered it. None of the shops had it around here.
I can't remember who sang what. Patrick was Nathan and his dancing and acting was good and the singing OK. It'll be really interesting to see how D manages the dancing. Sky does less than Nathan, but he is involved in a couple of big numbers. His voice should be perfect for this. As should his stage presence, he can dominate a stage. It's a shame he's not doing more locations. Local to me would be really nice.

Here's a link for the lyrics and who sings the songs.....

Sky does sing 'Luck be a Lady'....not my favourite of songs....perhaps that can be changed

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d51/hellee/console-1.gif awww Pam Can you make Edinburgh?

Yes I can make Edinburgh and will squeeze Liverpool in on the night I return from Florida but that is all I can do for Liverpool as I'm working till I take my mum away. It's just so close to home it's annoying

His timing is :nono:

I'm pleased for all those who can go particularly those who didn't get to Chicago but I can't say whether I'll be able to see himat all. I probably will be in Southern France.

It depends on exactly what holiday dates my companions are given. I hope I can see Darius as Sky at least once even if I have to go to Liverpool.

Spamfritter, what does that guy have against us? Have you any holiday plans for later this year?

I found some audio samples of Sky's songs on the link below. I'll Know is the first part song he sings.......he shares with Sarah. They sing separate verses on it.

Preston, you may not hear all the songs in the film version because some were dropped and/or replaced by other songs.

BT, nice to see you back. I told you he'd wait until you and spam were away. There must be one day you can make.

yes...mid July, but nothing after that....except nights which I tend to do 1 week a month.

Hope you manage at least 1.

I should find out the exact dates of my holidays soon. I'm also due Jury Service but I'm hoping they won't call me for that time because I did say I might be on holiday then.

I've had a look at train times and there's a pretty frequent service to Lime Street from Central and the odd train from Queen Street. Some have 3 changes though and I hate changing at places where I don't know the layout of the platforms. I'd have to check all the arrival and departure times.

Apparently the London G&D ran for 2 hours and 40 minutes. Can anyone confirm that? Also I thought I read somewhere that the Empire was quite near Lime Street.

I'd looked at bus timetables but when I searched the map aroung the Bus station in Liverpool, I didn't see Lime Street.

I don't know if maybe Easyjet will fly to Liverpool from one of the Glasgow airports. I'll look into it.

Edinburgh that would be no trouble. The train service is every half hour or even quarter of an hour at busier times.

I put this past partner, but by the time we get into London across to Euston and back up, its a long journey. I have been told "IF" it was the West end it would be a different story. oh well

That's a shame, prettyinpink.

I suppose if Darius had chosen to do something in the West End again, a lot of people would have thought he was ignoring everybody outwith the South East or in big cities with east transport links to London.

Just realised Debs, who's commented on D's myspace, is Debbie Kurup, whom I saw as Velma at the end of D's first Chicago run. I thought she was really really good.

According to shaun williams website, he is going into the westend as nathan detroit after the tour. I thought guys and dolls was finishing in the westend. He is also doing a concert for amnesty international at the royal albert hall, just wondering!!!
It closes on the 14th April. There is talk of a revival but, I know nothing about it. They'd have to find a new theatre.
