Hello Baytree - I do hope you can manage to make the show in Liverpool!! I'm getting really excited and nervous for him now!! :yahoo:

I don't know what you consider 'reasonable', but Allison and I are staying at the Lord Nelson Hotel, Lord Nelson Street, Liverpool L3 5PD. It is a 2 minute walk from Lime Street Station and a 5 minute walk from the theatre. We are staying on Friday 1/6 and it is costing us £85 for a twin room. It has just been refurbished and from its pictures, it looks OK (but don't hold me to it!! ) I assume a single room would be around the £45 mark, but look it up on the internet, it may be cheaper in the week!! :D (www.lordnelsonliverpool.com or

tel: 0151 709 5161) Hope this may be of some help - it seems really well situated!!

Thanks, Julie. I paid pretty much the same in London hotels.

I still can't make up my mind. I can only get there by train so it depends how expensive that is.

I considered driving but it's a long and unfamiliar way and I think I'd get too worked up and not be able to enjoy the show.

I certainly wouldn't drive either!! - it would worry me too!!

Hope you can work something out and we get to see you there!!

I've been looking at Wednesday. That way I could watch the show properly during the matinee and then concentrate on Darius in the evening.

I was on the Virgin Trains site but I can't seem to select a train without selecting them all. I'll try again later, and if I need to, I'll make enquiries in the station in the city tomorrow.

I so wish I was going, but I am looking forward to detailed reports! and if someone could smuggle a mobile in and video the whole show..I know ..too much to ask for

our possiblity was to drive up to Haydock, pay £26 for a family room, and then train it into Liverpool for £3.50. but all things considered, it would be too much, especially if it starts at 2.30! a 3 hour drive then immediately on the train and rushing to the theatre, we may all have fallen asleep and the evening show would be to late for kids.

I will be worryong now till opening night, thinking about those handstands et all. I am always so desperate for darius to show everyone what talent he has, he has never let me down, but he has to work so much harder than anyone else to get any appreciation from some quarters!

Where do you live PIP? I went to London and back in a day on the train.

There are so many ways of getting to London and a range of costs to suit various budgets.

When I first read Darius would be in Liverpool, I thought....city to city, easy!

I expected to have a couple of choices but there isn't one direct journey........no flight, no coach and no direct train. I was amazed.

We have no trouble getting into London for the day but for Liverpool we would have to go to London (back down the wrong direction)and then up to Liverpool from there, there is no line from here to Liverpool, only to Brum. it doubles the price and the travel hours - the overnight stay idea would be ok except for the kids - family means sacrifice I suppose.

As BT says, it sounds easy until you look and find public transport rarely goes directly from where you are to where you want to go.

.....................and then the government wonders why people will not put their faith in public transport and give up their cars.

Maybe they should all have to get out of their posh vehicles and give it a try before they're allowed to vote in any more crazy measures like the deregulation of the bus service..

I am going to open night, I got cheap very far back and high up tickets just so I could go. :D

The weekday matinee is Wednesday and there is one on Saturday.

I think all the evening ones start at 7.30 and the matinee starts at 2.30.

I am going on the last night as well :o

I'd be with you if I could.

He's so close to home and I'm either working or away

But will be there on 30th :cheer:

I will try to pop down at the end of the show to see you :D

That would be great...but the evening show, can't make the afternoon too much to do in too short a time.

Believe me I'd be there if I could :(

and I'll join you both, if I may.

I've got my train ticket.

I'll book a theatre ticket tonight. I tried last night, but it just kept offering me the same seat and it was a bit too far to the side. I'd rather be more central and a little further backbecause I haven't seen the show so I've no idea where the 'Sky" action takes place.

I went to the box office for tickets for the 9th I had to get tickets to the side as all the centre ones had gone

Oh well, in that case I'd rather be to the side than not inside at all.

What do you think would be best then, DD? I presume you've been to the Empire a few times.
